And again as I keep noting --- traditionally the electorate balances in a midterm. Almost always in fact.

Possibly because the more one party is in power, the more its flaws are prominently exposed.

The Republican Party was supposed to be moribund after FDR arrived. And not long before that they were supposed to be dead after placing a distant third in 1912. Next time the Presidency was open they won it with the biggest landslide ever in a contested election, and won the next two as well.

As long as the Duopoly presents the illusion of two parties that are different entities rather than a single entity expressed in two colluding divisions, that illusion guarantees balance. That's how Duopoly perpetuates itself.

    What are Democrats to do?

By all indications, 2018 looks like a disaster. Democrats never do well in midterms, Republicans have Gerrymandered the House, Republicans only need to defend nine seats in the Senate and most of those are red states. Republicans control the State Houses
Looks like a bad situation will only turn worse

Democrats will turn 2018 into a referendum on the Trump Presidency

Are you satisfied with Trumps performance?
Has he embarrassed you as President?
Did he deliver what he promised you?
    Repeal Obamacare
    Tax Reform
    The Wall
    Balanced budget
    Locking up Hillary

Usually candidates run on their own merits. In 2018, each Republican candidate will be tied directly to Trump. Every vote they made, every statement supporting Trump

    Can Republicans survive?

The Trump Presidency has been a train wreck.....one self induced crisis after another

The 2016 election marked a high water mark for republicans not seen in generations....how long will it take for Trump to destroy it?

Throwing out massive amounts of fake news isn't a 'train wreck', especially when it's from a Party and a media with less than zero credibility; it is in fact going to make the election cycle even worse for Democrats and other neon-fascist leftist brownshirts on the fringe. You know you're losing badly when your Party's moneybags have to resort to hiring 'activists' via Craig's List.

    Day after day after day

Trump continues to shoot himself in the foot. Blaming others or calling it "fake news" does nothing to negate how inept Trump has been

2018 will be a referendum on the Trump presidency. Democrats will pound home ....A vote for a Republican is a vote in support of Trump
Republicans in Congress will be asked......You promised to repeal Obamacare, balance the budget, reform taxes, build a wall and delivered nothing....Why should I continue to vote for you?

Day after day after day, 'The Reflatulence' posts fake news story after fake news story after fake news story, and fewer and fewer and fewer people listen to them.

Well, if that's the case, whatever those Democrats are doing....It is working
Trump is unable to be taken seriously. His fumbling responses to his crisis of the day prevents him from doing anything on Trumpcare, tax reform and even the Great Wall of Trump

The 2018 election will be a referendum on the Trump Presidency

    Will Republicans survive?

No, it isn't, though I'm sure many of the hysterical Snowflakes are avidly telling themselves and each other it is.

    Fake news.

It will be another GOP sweep, yes.

Hopefully some don't, like Ryan, McCain, and the establishment hacks.

Well, Trump is struggling to keep an approval rating over 40%
Won't bode well if the election becomes about Trump

On the larger front....when will Republicans finally be accountable for what they have promised?
They can't run against the Democratic agenda anymore......Republicans are calling the shots

    They haven't delivered a thing
When will voters figure it out?
