    I always thought it was pronounced "Lynux" and not "Linnux".
    Sounds like a line of air conditioners.

    Why Linux is great is also it's biggest downfall.
    Linux makers put very little thought into marketing and showing the world what a great system it truly is. Because no one owns it.
    Therefore the general public doesn't know what it is.
    People who love Windows should want Linux to succeed on the desktop platform - for the simple reason competition is good for everyone.
    Until Firefox came along and started to threaten IE - IE sucked. Now it is a better browser, still not so great - but it no longer sucks.
