then russia and china are both just as GREAT as the USA.

but human rights and real freedom elude the populace of both countries.

so militarily the usa is number 1 (but not by much)
and on the freedom/rights/happiness scales the USA is more like number 20

I picked 3. I actually thought about it for a while. The reason is that nobody loves the Constitution anymore. They love a part, at most, or a bit, but not all of it. The Left is always arguing that we need to get rid of the 2nd, or just exception it to the point of irrelevance. The Right is just as disdainful of the 4th, 5th, and 6th. Neither side wants the First Amendment to apply to the other side.

The Constitution and Bill of Rights was written like the Bible. Thou Shall Not. But we have managed to exception ourselves to the point where the Amendments are more suggestions than commandments as they were intended. Thou Shall Not has become Thou probably shouldn’t, unless you have a good reason.

It is said that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Well we are headed to number one with the best intentions in the world, only no clear idea of what we are doing.
