With all this talk of how terribly cold this winter has been, how does it compare with winters within the last 150 years?

In 1911, the Niagra Falls froze solidly enough that people were walking on the ice to the edge.

In 1899, the Mississippi had ice on it all the way to New Orleans. It was discharging ice floes into the Gulf.

Thus far, what we have had this year is a cold snap, and a winter precipitation event.

    Nothing new here.

    October, colder than normal
    November, about average
December, a little above for snow and cold.
January, standard January thaw that happens about 2-4 times a decade.
Feb, right on target for normal so far.

BTW, how about Jones coming out and saying there's been no Anthropogenic Global Warming? Are we willing to accept his word on it yet?

Again Global is the key word, I don't care if the guy in Death Valley says it has been hot.

Oh I've read the article, even coming this late to the game. I'm not shocked one bit that the Mill Rat has been all but missing. But we'll see. He may have had better things to do on this VD.

I see. The Ice Caps have ceased to lose ice by the giga-ton?

January wasn't to warmest on record as recorded by satellites? That infamous global warmist, Dr. Roy Spencer, was lying again, correct?

The North Polar Cap has not been losing volume every year for the last five years?

It is not the word or evidence of one scientist. There are scientists on every continent presenting evidence of the warming.

And the simple physics of the absorbtion spectra of CO2 states that as you increase the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere, it will trap more heat in that atmosphere. And, since man is responsible for the increase in CO2, we are responsible for the warming.

And as this decade proves to be even warmer than the last, you people will be searching for some other reason that AGW is not happening. And engaging in more mindless derision of the evidence that real scientists present you.

If it is happening we will put off any meaningful action until it is too late.
That is pretty certain. WE are not a very pro active country at all. Our current situations illustrates this.

Climate change as related to temp and other changes may not be linear.

The ice loss at the North Pole is at least off-set by the ice gain at the South Pole. Well, according to some sources.

Of course, with you AGW Faithers skewing and concealing the data, who the fuck can tell?

And even if (to the extent that) the planet has been ever so slowly getting warmer, the AGW Faither ARTICLE OF FAITH that such "warming" has been CAUSED by humankind is very much in doubt.

Won't that imbalance cause the earth to flip around and we will be upside down?

Now Citizen, don't get something like that started with this crowd. They would far rather believe that kind of thing, than accept that we are creating a real catastrophe for ourselves.

I mean, everyone knows the moon is hollow, right?
