Same filter.

I can buy 2¼ filters from Amazon for the price of one locally.

I'm willing to pay a reasonable amount of surcharge to buy local...but not more than double.

On your picture it says sold 50 times past month, which is nothing in Amazon dimensions.
The storage space can be used for items which sell much better.

Both of them are overcharging you. . . .

This is the nature of the free market, look everywhere for the best price.

Ain't that somethin'.

That's exactly what I'm going...sitting here enjoying the weather with my pen and paper and cross reference list price shopping.

(Those are the Fleet Guard numbers)

Wouldn't have thought if Rock Auto...appreciate that. 👍

That's just who my mechanic always orders from. This isn't really my area, except he fixes my car, dirt cheap.

. . . first he checks the local salvage yards, then Rock Auto.

A lot of amazon products don't ship from Amazon. They come from third parties.

I do that with my heat/ac filters. They are like $60ish each locally, 3 for $115 or so from the manufacturer, I can get 3 off amazon for less than 100 some times. It just depends who in their pool has them and wants to move them.

Amazon has non compete clauses with many manufacturers and sellers that sell on Amazon, stating that they (not amazon) can not sell their own product for less than what amazon is selling it for.

Think about that for a moment.

Rock pounds you in the rear end on shipping, though.

But, yeah, they're way cheaper on parts than everybody else. Last thing I bought from them were some OEM wiper blades for a dollar and some change a piece.

I haven't bought anything from Amazon in well over a decade.
