Barely mentioned? Sure, and what difference does it make? The question was "what does this have to do with religion and ethics?". That's what it has to do with it.
It makes not one shred of a difference whether the propaganda fount is owned by a sect, a global corporation, or a bunch of Martians. And that's why the thread doesn't belong in Religion and Ethics, in the same way a thread about campaign finance violations perpetrated by a Christian doesn't belong there.
Why is that so hard to understand? The ownership of the outfit is merely incidental. It's a sideshow, a minor tidbit, way, way down on the list of issues raised in the OP's article.
Anyway...
