House Votes to Defund Obamacare

The House of Representives just voted four amendments to the 2011 fiscal Continuing Resolution that completely defunds Obamacare. The Republicans campaigned on this issue and have done as they promised. The American people spoke loudly in the 2010 elections saying stop this program, we do not want it! Every poll before the election showed that and the polls continue to say repeal Obamacare.

Now, watch the Democrats and the President demogogue this issue just as if there were no election. As usual they will ignore the wishes of a large majority of the people and try to have funds put back to start implementing this unconstitutional law. They should just hold back and wait for a final court decision before spending any funds for Obamacare. If the Supreme Court rules it unconstitutioal those funds will have been totally wasted.

From the beginning of the Republic all forms of insurance, including health insurance have been regulated by the states. Just because states do not move in the direction the Dems and the President want does not give the federal government the power to step in and usurp that authority. The federal government's powers are spelled out in the Constitution which does not say they can usurp state powers and regulate insurance or require anyone to purchase it. States can do that, which Massachusetts has done. Other states may follow in good time depending upon the wishes of the citizens of each state. So, let's get rid of Obamacare and get back to Constitutional government. We all will be much better off for it because it will preserve our individual liberty.

most Americans like the legislation.

why are they voting against the publics will?

I don't know what polls you are looking at, but all the reputable ones say a big majority of Americans want the law repealed. Even if your statement were true that does not make it Constitutional! By the way, which party won the 2010 election on repealing Obamacare?

time for dueling polls.

I think the consensus polling shows that most folks think this bill was an abomination. It didn't do what it was supposed to do, it was made to work only with accounting gimmicks horrible even by the low standards of DC and it is already a huge source of corruption in the sale of exemptions.

The republicans campaigned on repealed and defunding. They made a promise. They seem to be keeping the promise.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 57% of Likely Voters at least somewhat favor repeal of the health care law while 38% are at least somewhat opposed. Those figures include 45% who Strongly Favor repeal and 31% who Strongly Oppose repeal. This poll is dated Feb. 14, 2011.

You disagree with them so they are biased? Over the past several elections they have been among the closest to predict the final result. You don't do that if you are biased!

Even the Gallup and Zogby polls show a majority want Obamacare repealed. In the Gallup poll taken January a quarter of Dems even want it repealed!! Are Gallup and Zogby biased too?

Now it goes to the Senate where it is sure to stop. The Republicans are attaching these ammendments to the funding bill to keep the government running, a typical political move. The Senate Dems will let the government shutdown over this issue and blame the Republicans for playing politics. When people start to be deprived of their government checks, they are hoping they will blame the Repubs for playing games. Brinksmanship is the game being played in Washington.

And do you really think any of those politicians in Washington have your "well being" in their minds? Of course not because it was not the people who put them in office but the money people who funnel them money and special interests. They are the ones who talk and wine and dine them. How often do they come back to the district and eat with you? How often do they call you up and talk to you? When you e-mail them or call them, do they return your call or e-mail?

Part of the people spoke loudly about defunding Obama care but not a clear majority. If the economy had been fine, this would not be an issue. The Dems will stall, and should BHO be elected to another term, the health insurance reform act will never be repealed, replaced, or defunded.

Being The Average Obama Supporter Doesn't Know What DEFUND means, they will all have to open their dictionaries to find the meaning. Such Hard Words for those little children in Wisconsin protesting with their mommies and daddies.:clap2:

Yeah all those American hate having the ability to not be kicked off their insurance for getting sick.

They hate having their pre exsisting conditions not cause them to be denied.

They just hate having their kids be able to stay on their progrram until 26.

You really have the composite playbook of Saul Alinsky/Rush Limbaugh down pat.

I lay this directly on Obama's shoulders. He had two years of campaigning on this issue all over the nation, and yet when he won the election he had no National Health Care plan to ram through congress in their first week. Then he fucks it around a year until it is meaningless. It simply should have been 100% National Health Care for everybody, and filled in the blanks as we go along. It should have had a clause it cannot be defunded. It should have never involved every asshole corporation, except for the America citizens, who were left out of the meetings and had no voice. So Obama gets an F for NHC in my book.
