The House of Representives just voted four amendments to the 2011 fiscal Continuing Resolution that completely defunds Obamacare. The Republicans campaigned on this issue and have done as they promised. The American people spoke loudly in the 2010 elections saying stop this program, we do not want it! Every poll before the election showed that and the polls continue to say repeal Obamacare.
Now, watch the Democrats and the President demogogue this issue just as if there were no election. As usual they will ignore the wishes of a large majority of the people and try to have funds put back to start implementing this unconstitutional law. They should just hold back and wait for a final court decision before spending any funds for Obamacare. If the Supreme Court rules it unconstitutioal those funds will have been totally wasted.
From the beginning of the Republic all forms of insurance, including health insurance have been regulated by the states. Just because states do not move in the direction the Dems and the President want does not give the federal government the power to step in and usurp that authority. The federal government's powers are spelled out in the Constitution which does not say they can usurp state powers and regulate insurance or require anyone to purchase it. States can do that, which Massachusetts has done. Other states may follow in good time depending upon the wishes of the citizens of each state. So, let's get rid of Obamacare and get back to Constitutional government. We all will be much better off for it because it will preserve our individual liberty.
