House Repubs waste MORE time

The Democrats took control of the country in January 2007 & massively increased government debt, spending & regulations. They destroyed our jobs.

That agrees with my sources.

Democrats had four years of a congressional majority and two of those years with a liberal left wing president. That was a waste of time. Taking a half a day to make sure the National Motto is preserved at a time when the left is tearing down every symbol of Christianity and encouraging the termination of employment for Americans who dare to wear the American Flag on their lapels seems like a pretty smart use of time. The question is why the left is so outraged about it.

Is there no limit to the non-jobs bills the Repubs take up? :eusa_eh: Red meat for the soc con base no doubt.

First Read - House to vote on making 'In God We Trust' nation's motto
"For more than 50 years, the National Motto has been the law of the land. While some have questioned its constitutionality, none of these challenges has succeeded. We wonder, therefore, why the Majority believes this precatory intervention by Congress is so necessary."
"By aggressively pursuing a vehicle that places the government in the position of making an affirmatively religious statement, the Majority has transgressed the clear line between government and religion in violation of the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment."

They wanted to use "In Congress we Trust" but everyone was laughing to hard.

He'd also sign a bill that said churches are nice but that doesn't mean its a pressing issue right now :eusa_eh:

Obviously it's pressing enough to have the White House comment on the petition, eh?

:eusa_whistle:

Of course he's going to comment/sign it. There's nothing else on the calendar & it would be political suicide not to in this country if you believe some of the polls concerning believers . Jesusland map - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Then you best be yelling at Harry, the Senate Majority. You know, the Senate that also voted down our dear President's jobs bill...:eusa_whistle:

My fav Rev chimed- in ;) :

It just shows that the current crop of republicans can't be trusted to be serious about what's really important. A motto, come on. It's already on our coins. Seriously, would it even pass Constitutional muster unless they put an 's' after God?!?!

Sad thing is THEY HAVE TO DO IT because their soc con base demands it

Their base doesn't care that the country is sinking @ them as long as we have gawd on our (their) side :eusa_angel: everything's hunky\-dory :eusa_eh:

Look what happened when Gov. Daniels called for a truce on social issues to concentrate on the economy earlier this year. The social conservatives called it a surrender! If your house is burning down what are you going to do? Call the fire department and try to save it or go outside and mow the lawn? Simplified, yes, but instead of losing focus on side issues concentrate on the problems with the economy. It appears that now everybody but the super committee is focusing on the the economy. They pushed it onto them and washed their hands of it. If they do not come to agreement they will have wasted 3 months because I believe Congress will not allow across the board cuts.

But that would need a neutral eye.

And sight. ;)

The main point is, Repubs came in saying they wouldn't meet for any frivolous reasons. They denied a meeting to recognize the efforts that eliminated Bin Laden, citing these exact reasons, yet this bill is a reason to call a vote to the floor?

Anyone objective knows this is horsesh$t.

Clearly a vital subject.... since we have two threads on it.

More hysteria from the left. Funny shit.

Nothing hysterical about it. Pointing out how absurd the House is under Boehner and his caucus is a legitimate reason for a thread. Certainly more substantive than any of your long winded quotes from books you've never read.

The hysteria from the left is so inappropriate that it makes you wonder if they just dial up Huffy or Soros and post stuff without thinking.

The six previous years Republicans held both houses had nothing to do with it.

You gotta love these Republicans. They hand over a sinking ship just before it goes under and then say, "But when I gave it to you, it was fine".

Next time you walk into a store in which the sign "In God we trust, all others pay cash," is displayed, ask them if Gawd has every bought anything there. Or if young and dying, as so many are at this very moment, many of them children, wonder if 'trust in gawd' is the proper response. Or if you witness some crime in which you could easily help, move on with 'in gawd you trust.' Notice something here that is consistent with all republican thought, responsibility lies somewhere else, see my sign up there on the wall. For to do good or to act morally is beyond the congress today. Talk is cheap. Symbolism telling. Think about it.

They have nothing better to do because they've already passed jobs bills, tax reform, budget, and its all sitting in Harry Reids trash can.

Might wanna write your Dim Senators if you want something to actually pass Congress.
