I doubt that a change in the currency - that medium which we use to exchange for goods and services - will make a difference. If I can build a garage myself then I will not pay someone to do it for me unless I haven't the time to do so. If everybody could build a garage then it will be worth less than something that only a few people can do. Gas is "expensive" because everyone wants it and only a few can make it. The more in demand a skill or product is the more it will cost and the reverse is also true.
