well, lets see, a study which was in the making for over 3 years ( 4 come April) and had cleared all hurdles, the state dept. dept of interior etc etc etc ....but apparently Obama has killed the pipeline, part of the excuse is and this is key; the gop started a 60 day clock for a decision, up or down, so he is 'forced' to say no. If you want an appropriate analogy to the Hoover Dam,

OR the Keystone pipeline, sans govt. funding. now don't get me wrong, even IF the gov. were putting up money to make this happen, ala the dam etc. it would be a GOOD thing.



On a general note; its funny that just a year ago, not even, hillary spoke in favor of the project and what it does for our energy situation. That was when she got her dept's report , that had collated and tabulated all of the other agency - dept. of interior energy RCRA etc. in that there was no environmental impact worth stopping the pipeline for and before she gopt that 3 am phone call form Obama or one of his minions telling her to tank it.

Oh, and the Ogallala Aquifer, Sand hill area is already criss crossed by more than 25k of pipelines now. Its a smoke screen.
