Home Electricity Use in US at lowest level since 2001

The dirty little secret is that new home construction is way down and doesn't account for lower electricity use. Little by little the Hussein administration is forcing Americans to live like socialist Russians who endure cold temperatures because they can't afford government mandates.

Forcing us to live like Russians? What laws force you to drive less, use less, and think more? None. Last time I checked Americans used a quarter of the worlds energy and this slight dip has very little significance.

Clearly you seem effected but in what ways have you felt forced to cut back?

Yes, advances in technology are the direct result of government!

You are an idiot. Where the hell did the net come from? Are you purposely stupid?

I wouldn't be so quick to judge. The government, especially the military was using digital technology and computers long before any commercialization.

Indeed, it has been the role of the government to hold on to advantageous ideas and products, develop them and then send them out for application and consumption.

Under Obama, we can't even afford cheap electricity. So we use less.

That's the answer right there. When people have no money they turn stuff off. Same thing happened in the 70s.

They don't care how much electricity their products use. That only became a selling point when government forced the issue.

Bullshit and here's a free lesson as to why you're dead wrong:

Rweenies 10,000 BTU air conditioner, the Comrade 2013 sells for $300.

My 10,000 BTU air conditioner, the Freedom 2013 sells for $350.

Sure, my a/c costs $50 more, but it will save my customers $150 in energy costs in the first year alone over the Comrade 2013. See how I get your market share and help cut down energy usage through the power of the free market with no government interference?

Of course you don't...

There wouldn't be any energy savings without government regulation. How safe do you think your car would be without government regulation? Only a tard would put their family into a car built without regulations and drive them on a road without a speed limit to a diner that doesn't follow health standards.

As predicted, you don't understand and you fly off to at least three other tangents....

Clearly -- the schemes for networking and packet communication came out of places like BBN and academia. The government was an early CUSTOMER for the technology thru DARPA and other agencies..

If we had waited for Govt to invent it and field it --- you'd still be AOLs oldest customer !!

I'm irritated all day long listening to my government mandated, energy efficient heat pump, spin 20 hours a day doing NOTHING to warm the lower level of my home.. Have to have a RESISTIVE back-up for the useless POS AND a space heater to keep it from running all fucking day long..

It's a cruel joke.. As are my government designed toilets that need a plunger at every seat..

All those cell phones are now using almost as much as refrigerators.. And tablets and Wi Fi routers.
As soon as the govt patches one hole -- they fill it with some OPPOSITE mandate -- like Electric Vehicles. How silly is a mandate for EVs, when we're being told to take 1Watt chargers out of the wall when not in use??

Leftists want energy to be RARE AND EXPENSIVE.. The rest of us would rather have it PLENTIFUL and CHEAP..
