I want to know who these mythological people with no ID are. I have to have ID to do anything like open a PO Box, go to the courthouse, get a bank account, get a job, file for welfare, buy cough medicine, get prescriptions, rent a car, buy a car, get car insurance, get a Sheetz card, use a credit card, buy cigarettes, buy alcohol, and so on and so forth.

"When people get to vote more often, Democrats win" Debby Wasserman Schulz (D-Fl)

Yeah, we know, Deb, like when the 175,000 registered voters of St Lucie County, Fl who cast 250,000 ballots in 2012, we know.

Holder is doing exactly what his job calls for. There's a reason it's called the Department of Justice and not the Department of Voter Supression.

When was the last time you had to wait in an eight hour line to open a PO box or go to the courthouse or open a bank account or apply for a job or apply for welfare or buy cough medicine or get a prescription or rent a car or buy a car or get car insurance or get a Sheetz card (whatever the hell that is) or use a credit card or buy cigarettes or buy alcohol or any of the stuff included in the so on and so forth?

This administration's resident pit bull is filing another lawsuit against a state in which HE does not like the laws in said state.
Gee, why doesn't Obama have a Constitution shredding party in the White House rose garden.

How Holder makes the great leap from being compelled to identify one's self in order to cast a ballot to racism is a mystery.

It is our first racist regime and may those who voted for it, be the first to :crybaby:

Yep. That has to be the single most stupid comment this year. Just how are voters being suppressed? Over 100 million people voted last year. Turn on your brain, please.

How so?..Where is it in the purview of the federal government to usurp the States Rights clause in the 10th Amendment?
This an over reach of federal power. Plain and simple.

Anyone actually believe Obama won Fla. fairly and squarely?

Or Bush.

Stop it...The democrat operatives in Florida claimed the absentee ballots of overseas military personnel were invalid due to some idiotic technicality.
Also, those so called dimpled chads? It took weeks for the examiners to recreate the condition. They concluded that the only way this could occur is when several cards were inserted into the voting machines..OOPS...Some one done got caught trying to rig the election. THAT is why it was determined Bush had more votes.

I don't care which side does it, I don't care which party is involved, but ANYONE involved with voter fraud should be burned at the stake, period.

Do you even do any research first or do you just like to yap?

note* - turnout percentages will show over 100% due to a two page ballot. the tabulation system (GEMS) provides voter turnout as equal to the total cards cast in the election divided by the number of registered voters. also note that some voters chose not to return by mail the second card containing the amendments.

You're going to pretend you never heard about those lines in Florida?

How about NC where they're contesting the right of the students to vote, but only from the liberal college, the ones from the conservative college aren't being bothered

Days after the law was signed, North Carolina Republicans escalated their attack on voting rights with an unprecedented crackdown on student voting, trying to prevent a student at a historically black college from running for city council where he attended school (which the state board of elections overruled) and shutting down polling places on college campuses. This was an obvious indication that the law was aimed not at stopping voter fraud, which is virtually non-existent in the state (there have been only twenty-two alleged cases of fraud since 2000 according to the comprehensive News21 database), but at making it harder for core Democratic constituencies to cast a ballot and seek elected office. - See more at: Justice Department Is Challenging North Carolina?s Extreme Voter Suppression Law | The Nation

How Holder makes the great leap from being compelled to identify one's self in order to cast a ballot to racism is a mystery.

It’s not a ‘mystery’ when one is aware of the facts:

Fact: voter ‘fraud’ by identity has changed the outcome of no election.

Fact: there is no evidence ID laws prevent ‘fraud.’

Fact: Older African-American voters lack the documents necessary, such as a birth certificate, to obtain an ID because these documents weren’t issued or records not kept in jurisdictions practicing segregation.

When these voters first registered to vote, in some cases decades ago, they were not required to provide a state issued photo ID, and were allowed to use other documents or testimony to verify identity and citizenship.

Given these facts and lack of evidence in support of voter ID laws, the AG is perfectly justified to challenge the constitutionality of such measures in Federal court.

And remember: no one is opposing requiring a voter to verify who he is when he first registers to vote; but a registered voter, who has voted in every election since he last registered, and shows as eligible to vote on current registration rolls, should not be compelled to again provide ID when he is indeed otherwise eligible to vote.
