Of course some people may only want to use caucasian as a reference to Europeans... but that's not the correct use. Caucasians developed most likely as a distinct group in Central Asia. The random assortment of nomadic tribes spread out south and West to the middle east and India, where they developed their own cultural traditions. Later the remaining caucasians in central region became referred to as Scythians mainly, but several other names. Scythian tribes such as the Saka, Alans, and Sarmatians moved Westward and settled everywhere in Europe.
