History Should Boost Critical Thinking

... helping people, which is liberal... helping corporations, which is conservative....

This is, of course, deliberately inaccurate. Pretty hard to have a discussion of history when participants dishonestly present subjective partisan bias as 'fact,' or incessantly resort to logical fallacy. Let's present the facts of history that all can agree upon and evaluate them rationally. There will still be plenty of room for opinion and interpretation.
So what was the accurate response?

. The national government helped business, hospitals, cities, airports, road improvements, farmers, young men that could not find work, and adults that needed jobs and on and on.

100% stupid and liberal of course. Extending the Great Depression for 12 years into a world war that killed 60 million is not helping, you perfect idiot!! OMG!!!! Helping would have meant capitalism and peace.

Do you understand?

Celebrity Cupboard

History is not only a record but also a conversation. How we imagine that archaeologists/historians of the future will record modern era wonders such as audio cassettes and iPods impacts how future scholars actually valuate such totems.

If history was not dynamic, we would not celebrate wisdom fantasy avatars such as Peter Pan (the flying boy created by writer J.M. Barrie) or market Woody Allen films such as "Celebrity" (1998).

Take two prominent figures in history that represent social achievement: Andrew Carnegie (the iconic philanthropist) and P.T. Barnum (the imaginative visionary who pioneered carnival/circus event wonders). If we compare Carnegie and Barnum, we could come to valuable conclusions about ambition/prosperity caricaturization.

Mercantilism Matzo

A proper understanding of history actually helps scholars and students (and laymen too) assess how culture is related to economics and psychology.

Such an understanding is valuable to sociologists at least in the age of product-driven networking (i.e., free market capitalism culture).

Consumerism really came hand-in-hand with urbanization. Two mercantile products stand out in the realm of pedestrianism sociology: the audio cassette and the sneaker (or athletic shoe).

The audio cassette came with the demand for portable media storage/playback devices. The sneaker (or athletic shoe) came with the demand for durable pedestrian traffic gear as well as for sports/athletics ruggedness goods.

Such goods investigation reveals the connections between history and modern archaeology.

What happens when the best American historians name FDR as America's best president, then the American historians are called socialists, leftists etc.
Most industrial nations on the planet have an economic mixture, socialism and capitalism.
fdr created a situation that stifled the economy until Reagan
Harding created a situation that created the Roaring 20's

so yea, anyone that thinks fdr was our best Pres ever is either a liar or a complete idiot

or

a socialist pile of shit that wants to destroy the country

You're not making any sense. What the heck are you talking about?

Harding (R) inherited a depression, he cut taxes and government spending in 1/2, the depression lasted 18 months and lead to the Roaring Twentys.
FDR (D) inherited a depression, he raised taxes and greatly increased government spending, the depression lasted over 10 years.

so looking at the results, real world results and not theories on paper, we can determine that for government to help the economy, it must do the opposite of what leftist did, twice.

Because that is what they are!

Unless you supported FDR invading a country that did not attack the US.
Lying the US in to WWII
Rounding up US citizens and putting them in to camps without any due process.
For building the great military industrial complex.
For creating many socialist programs that were supposed to be temporary.
You forgot his most egregious crimes. Forced slavery, firebombing civilians, atomic bombs etc..etc...

FDR was one psychotic and just plain evil motherfucker.

Why can't America's historians see history as clearly as you? One would think America's best historians would know all about those incidents, perhaps some might even know about the atomic bombs. but perhaps not. So I would suggest you start a campaign to inform them of your findings, might start with the history department at Harvard University. They would sure welcome your historical information.

Logical fallacy, yet again.
Are you saying historians never heard of America's use of the atom bombs?
I'd say that historians that rank fdr #1 are liars that care more about destroying the country than being honest.

fdr was by far the most evil man to ever be Pres and history backs up that claim.
Where does history up the claim that FDR was the most evil man ever to be president? Remember this is critical thinking time, no personal opinions unless there is historical evidence to back up the opinion.

rounding up innocent men, women, children, and putting them in camps = evil
Tuskegee, where they injected poor people with diseases w/o them knowing = evil
multiple attempts to ignore the Constitution = evil
trying to increase the size of the SCOTUS so he could appoint enough judges to ignore the Constitution for him = evil
Agitating countries into attacking us = evil

the list goes on and on, but it requires critical thinking to come to my conclusion, something leftist don't have. Leftist told you fdr was awesome and you never gave it a second thought

Oh, and there's tons more

Stalin, FDR, Churchill, Hitler, Tojo, Truman... They were all incredibly sadistic psychopaths.

Fucking war pigs.

FDR made terrorism targeting civilians a priority. He enslaved Americans. He was one purely evil motherfucker.

Question for History Boy: Who was there before the Romans?

After his conquest of Egypt, Augustus ordered the construction of a small Roman city in Baalbeek, Lebanon, a backwater even then. Here's what they built, it's on par with anything you'll find in Rome. It's simply staggering and breathtaking

Now, here's the fun part. Here's what the Romans built on top of. The stones on the upper part of the picture are all Roman and have very little weathering. But what about the ancient, weathered megaliths that the Romans built on top of, who built them? When?
