Hiring a professional to bleach your hard drive

This is a spin off from another thread about deleting emails. It seems most of us have deleted at least 30,000 emails within our lifetime but this is a more pressing question;

Have you ever hired a professional IT firm to bleach your hard drive?

Why or why not? What are the advantages and disadvantages of doing it yourself versus hiring a professional to bleach your hard drive for you?

Did not need it-the hard drive was a natural blonde.

Remove hard drive from computer.

Break open drive; remove disc.

nail disc to a substantial wooden frame.

Shoot repeatedly.

If you don't like the noise then instead of shooting drill multiple larger holes. Oh, use a good carbide tip.

Why not hire a professional to bleach your hard drive when you can buy a new hard drive for about a hundred bucks? WTF?
