Hillary 2012

Ladies and gentlemen, the Hillary 2012 campaign is now underway.

Make no mistake, Mrs. Clinton is watching the political landscape with great interest, and yes, more understanding than is capable by Obama.

The Clinton machine has been idling, the tank is full, and the road looks far more clear than just a few short months ago.

She polls far higher than Obama, has done a very clever job of removing herself from the day to day perceptions of the Obama administration, and now with the added experience of Secretary of State in her resume, is poised to be the strongest candidate for 2012 - stronger than the current President of the United States...

I think that she might just do that. She will be portrayed as a traitor and she may have to overcome that, but she see's what's happening here and it's not pretty. I can't remember a time when a member of the President's own party challenged the sitting President in his re-election bid, but that's not to say it can't happen. Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi threw her under the bus during the campaign and went for someone they knew they could roll easily and that was Obama. We will see.

I wouldn't put it past Hillary. This guy's self-destructing, and all she's gotta do is resign her position early enough. Then sit tight for a few months and watch Barry continue to stumble until - all for the good of the party you understand - she has no choice but to come to rescue of the Democrats. It's ballsy, but she's got a set a hell of a lot bigger than Obama's.

And it's not without precedent. Teddy Kennedy wasn't a former member of the administration but a Senator no less when he made a run to get the party's nomination away from sitting incumbent Jimmy Carter. And I'm pretty sure he wasn't the first in history to try to do so.

Put your money on her now while the odds are the longest.

Gotta agree with you. I don't care for Hillary but she is no political dummy. She has been gathering experience in the job as SOS. She has also been paying close attention to whats going on. She knows the ins and outs of DC. Much, Much more experience than the current POTUS.

If OL'BO self destructs then he might not get the nod from the Dems for a second term. There are lots of moderates in the Democratic party and I'm sure they are just cringing at whats going on in DC right now. I think a lot would depend on who the Reps field against him. I know it sounds unlikely but I'm sure stranger things have happened in the wonderful world of American Politics.

A slight majority of disagreement in the polls with Obama's policies is not "near universal sentiment against Obama", not even close.

Brown won by distancing himself from the Republican Party as well as BHO's policies. Very few party signs and insignia were allowed near him during the campaign. Where he excelled was in carefully managing antiadministration sentiment among the 'baggers, the Republicans, and the centrists.

I think that he will be one of the more liberal Republicans in the Senate, but on the big ticket items he will stand with the GOP.

Got a point there.

If it's 50-50, President Obama's oratorial skills win the day.

But, he has to change the perception of being way left wing, egotistical and, above all, a very weak President.

And who are the Republicans putting up to run against Obama?

1. Mitt Romney.
2. Tim Pawlenty.
3. Newt Gingrich.
4. Sarah Palin. Just to name a few.

Maybe even Scott Brown, by the time Obama run's again Scott will have by- far more experience than Obama did when he was elected as POTUS. LOLOLO

I think people like Hillary have now been marginalized after the Massachusett's vote. Real reform has begun, the revolution has started, and government will have to get it's financial house in order before we hear from the Hillary's and the Obama's of the world.

Both Parties are now sitting down and trying to figure out who they are, and where we are going now. It may be too late for many of them, and the longer they stay in denial means the end of the road for them politically soon.

It is a tea bagger nation now, so help for our children has arrived.

Peace.

You think progressive Americans should be killed?

Deported to the communist country of their choice. They have more in common with communists and socialists than freedom and liberty loving Americans.

So where do you want to go to?

I mean I'd say that demanding that people who disagree be forcefully removed from the country means you're not exactly freedom loving.

I don't think there is any chance for her to beat him, can she even campaign against him in the Primary? It automatically goes to Obama as far as I can tell.

President Pierce wasn't offered the nominatin by his party after his first term.

Stranger things have happened.

The first step is for President Obama to move to the center. If the rumor that Rahm Emanuel is leaving to run for mayor, it may be indication such a move.

But I won't believe it unless he drops Biden for Cheney.

Is the president even allowed to fire the VP or did you mean when he runs in 2012?

I highly doubt Cheney or the Dems would be thrilled with that.

I could imagine Cheney reluctantly agreeing for a shot at VP but all the Dems I know despise Cheney for one reason or another.

3. Newt Gingrich. Far too much baggage

If your point is that the Republicans don't have a candidate with the skills that President Obama has, you are correct.

But you are overlooking what has proven to be major component of the political landscape, that is that substance has overtaken- perhaps not surpassed,- form in importance to the electorate.

Ideas will win out if the electorate is informed, and that is what is happening now: Virginia, New Jersey, Massachusetts.

The country is split roughly 50-50, yet the Republicans don't have a particular leader to whom we can compare the President.

The Republicans are ahead in the generic vote for who should lead in Congress. How do you explain this?

No charismatic leader...but winning in the marketplace of ideas.

This is why the media is so important to the Democrats: to keep the electorate uninformed.

But now there is talk radio, and cable tv...somewhat leveling the field: thus 50-50.

If the political questions are clearly enunciated, the conservative ideas will win.

Form versus substance. We shall see.

Kennedy openly challenged Carter.

Reagan openly challenged Ford.
