TAX! TAX! TAX!....socialism being the new world order and all.....

the average worldwide income is only $7,000.....and the world median income is only $1,700.......that means EVERYBODY in the U.S. is RICH....!

Countries with an average income near $7,000 include Mexico, Chile, and Latvia. They rank about 40th in the global income table.

As of 2005, people living in rich countries had an average income of about $35,000. The high incomes in these countries make the world average income four times larger than the world median income, which was $1,700 that year.

Average income worldwide is $7,000 - The Boston Globe

No, it's the very weathy who have found ways around paying their fair share for years and years.

They need to catch up with the rest of us.

People making $0 to $10,000 USD pay 10% Federal Income Tax. Is that fair? This was from a liberal.

But comparing your average salary of $35,000 to someone making only $1,700.....you are f*cking RICH....!!!

YOU...as well as those even richer......need to pay MORE TAXES.......!!

What the hell do you think all those taxes are FOR anyway......? :cuckoo:

It's a binary question, chief...as in yes or no. I didn't invite another question.

So to the point.

Are taxes, socialist?

Yes.

Or.

No.

duh yes......when they are put to SOCIALISTIC purposes......

All government endeavors are "socialistic". Nature of the beast..chief.

So.

Again..without qualification.

Are TAXES, SOCIALIST?

Ah..so..you can't answer the question.

Typical.

I answered it TWICE....you just don't like the answer....

No you didn't.

It's pretty yes or no.

Socialism involves a collective effort to achieve a goal. In my opinion, taxes are socialistic.

Simple. No qualification.

Is it your opinion that the collection of taxes is NOT socialistic?

yup.....it costs alot in gas to drive a car.....compared to riding a bicycle.....

i guess that's why socialists think Americans should ride bicycles everywhere....if you did that you could then afford to pay more in TAXES to help even out the injustices around the world.....:eusa_whistle:

but how many lefties in the U.S. are going to give up their cars........?

GE paid no taxes; Goldman Sachs paid $14 million last year. The GAO reported in 2008 that “two out of every three United States corporations paid no federal income taxes from 1998 through 2005.”

Corporate Taxes as a Percentage of Federal Revenue
1955 . . . 27.3%
2010 . . . 8.9%

Corporate Taxes as a Percentage of GDP
1955 . . . 4.3%
2010 . . . 1.3%

Individual Income/Payrolls as a Percentage of Federal Revenue
1955 . . . 58.0%
2010 . . . 81.5%
Corporate Tax Rates, Then and Now | The Big Picture

It would seem to me that raising taxes is not the issue, more so collecting them and closing the loopholes that allow these things to happen is a better approach. Personally have always felt that in order to benefit from a tax system you must in someway be a part of the nation that collects those taxes. Give you an example, if your a company that makes computers for example, and then employs offshore workers to make them and then seeks the benefits of this nations tax system to do that, in my humble opinion your company is "taking" from the American taxpayer. Having said that the reverse is true as well, if your a company that seeks to build and sale here, as much as possible, then you should get the benefits of a tax system that goes along with that. As for the poor and middle class, many are under the mistaken impression that the bottom 47% somehow pay no taxes because they don't pay or do not qualify to pay "federal income taxes" this does not mean they do not pay taxes, in fact the Federal Govt. levies taxes on may goods and services that are passed along to the consumer that that bottom 47% pay on a daily basis, a good example would be the Federal excise tax on gas. So perhaps the best solution is not to raise taxes, but actually do something about the bloated way in which they are collected , so that we all benefit. In my opinion though that will never happen if we as Americans can't remember one simple fact, the poor and middle class, as well as the rich are just as American as anyone else, and as such be they right or left, Americans should be the important thing here. not what side of the isle you fall on.
