Here's Why Obama Will Lose.

1. " John Kass, Chicago Tribune columnist and the son of an immigrant,... describes how his father worked his fingers to the bone every day of his life to run his small business. And how the government, not only didn’t help, it was like a hammer over his head.

2. 'Just two immigrant brothers and their families risking everything, balancing on the economic high wire, building a business in America. They sacrificed, paid their bills, counted pennies to pay rent and purchase health care and food and not much else. And for their troubles they were muscled by the politicos, by the city inspectors and the chiselers and the weasels, all those smiling extortionists who held the government hammer over all of our heads.

3. “You didn’t get there on your own,” Obama said. “I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something — there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there.

4. If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that? Somebody else made that happen?
Somebody else, Mr. President? Who, exactly? Government?

5. One of my earliest memories as a boy at the store was that of the government men coming from City Hall. One was tall and beefy. The other was wiry. They wanted steaks.

We didn’t eat red steaks at home or yellow bananas. We took home the brown bananas and the brown steaks because we couldn’t sell them. But the government men liked the big, red steaks, the fat rib-eyes two to a shrink-wrapped package. You could put 20 or so in a shopping bag.

6. “Thanks, Greek,” they’d say.'

7. Like so many of our grandparents and parents, no one gave them subsidies, they didn’t take food stamps, they didn’t take welfare. They didn’t spend their money on frivolous things. They just worked and worked and worked. Every day of the summers I was a child my Mom would drop me and my brothers off at my Grandma’s so she could work for no pay at my Dad’s start up law firm. This was after he worked days at a railroad so he could go to law school at night. And that was after he went into the army, so he could go to college, where he took any job he could get. Both of them worked so hard, and never complained. This is the legacy of the entrepreneurial spirit.

8. People like Obama hold the hammer and say, “Thanks Greek,” because they have never known what it’s like to get up every day, work hard to make a business successful, never take time off, never golf, never go on vacation, much less the Hamptons. Obama doesn’t know. Most people in the government don’t know."

Funny, I would have that one of your "earliest memories" was that street corner where you earned "crumpled singles" and a few "coins".

THIS is all you've got????

Even if that was attempted humor rather than the character assassination that you folks on the Left see as debate....

...the advice is the same: don't give up the day job.

[interminable irrelevancy removed]And, Obama seems to be running for president for no other reason than to make it easier to bring Americans under the control of a burgeoning Left-wing government, and all of his socialist peers.

Don't you agree?

Obama is less socialist than Kennedy and Johnson. Your mimicking of the rightwing mythology notwithstanding.

Your writing getting better....I'm assuming credit for same.

Your logic....not so much.

When the dust settles, this will be regarded as the final nail in the coffin:

“If you’ve got a business - you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.” - Barack Obama, Roanoke, Va., July 13

And it's going to cost him dearly. Americans are sensible people. When they have a President tell them that thier hard work wasn't thiers? I'd say he crossed the line...[well, err...uhmm...LEAPED over the line].

And I for one minute don't by into the spin that 'it was out of context'.

Simple premise: Autos weren't built because government built roads and bridges, and the maufacturers had to fill the roads...the roads came afterward.

Obama was attacking the ingenuity and inventiveness of ordinary Americans.

Yea, we all know where Kennedy and Johnson's socialism has led us. Even just a little bit more is too much. :eusa_hand:

Obama is a socialist at heart, but he is much more narcissistic than socialist. He'll do anything to be reelected. He's never stopped campaigning.

These people seem to forget that the president is running against Mitt Romney, who could not have led a more privileged pampered life if he'd drawn it up himself,

and, astonishingly, seems to be running for president for no other reason than to make life easier for himself and all of his privileged, pampered peers.

And, speaking of one's background, and it's influence on ones life.....

1. “Activism for peace and human rights causes has characterized the congregation of the First Unitarian Church of Honolulu since it was organized 50 years ago. Members were instrumental in founding the League of Women Voters and activating a local branch of the American Civil Liberties Union. It offered sanctuary to servicemen who went AWOL to avoid being sent to Vietnam. It helped launch the Save Our Constitution effort to fight the constitutional amendment on same-sex marriages. And just recently, the church sponsored a Death with Dignity poll that collected a 72 percent response in favor of end-of-life legislation....”
Honolulu Star-Bulletin Features

2. Obama hid his Unitarian connections during the campaign. In a 2006 speech, Obama explained:

"I was not raised in a particularly religious household, as undoubtedly many in the audience were. My father, who returned to Kenya when I was just two, was born Muslim but as an adult became an atheist. My mother, whose parents were non-practicing Baptists and Methodists, was probably one of the most spiritual people and kindest people I've ever known, but grew up with a healthy skepticism of organized religion herself. As a consequence, so did I."

But Obama's 2006 speech contradicted his own memoir Dreams from My Father (p17) in which he writes of his grandfather:

"In his only skirmish into organized religion, he would enroll the family in the local Unitarian Universalist congregation...." Archived-Articles: The Unitarian Church and Obama's Religious Upbringing

a. Stanley and Madelyn Dunham in 1955 picked up and relocated 2,000 miles from Texas to Seattle. The next year they relocated to Mercer Island specifically so their daughter, Obama's future mother Stanley Ann Dunham could attend Mercer Island High School. Another attraction: The East Shore Unitarian Church, also a hotbed of leftist activism.

One year earlier, Mercer Island schools had distinguished themselves in a way which might have caused others to avoid them. The Chicago Tribune explains,

"In 1955, the chairman of the Mercer Island school board, John Stenhouse, testified before the House Un-American Activities Subcommittee that he had been a member of the Communist Party." http://www.valfoubert.com/Strong Personalities Shaped a Future Senator.pdf

b. The Chicago Tribune mentions a description of the Dunham's chosen church as "The Little Red Church on the Hill". According to its own website, East Shore Unitarian Church got that name because of, "Well-publicized debates and forums on such controversial subjects as the admission of ‘Red China' to the United Nations...." Mercer Island's John Stenhouse, according to his 2000 obituary, once served as church president possibly contributing to the ‘red' label.

The Dunhams moved to Honolulu in 1960 after Ann graduated and quickly became friends with leftists such as now-Rep. Neil Abercrombie (D-HI) and Communist Party member Frank Marshall Davis. Obama's mother-to-be enrolled at the University of Hawaii and soon met Barack Obama Sr. in a Russian language class. She would remain affiliated with the University for most of her life. Just thought you'd like to be familiar with the backgrounds of both candidates....

...you're welcome.

Don't you agree?

Doesn't address my point.

This does:

That's a breakdown of the comparative tax changes, Obama vs. Romney. Now dispute my point that Romney wants to be president in order to make life easier for himself and his peers.

Do you want end Medicare and Medicaid entirely? Should poor kids get only the healthcare they can pay for?

Obama loves the perks of office. That simple. He will do/say ANYTHING to stay.

ETA: When you think about it? Obama's records are sealed. NO ONE knows how he got there. ONE can summize by his actions it wasn't by his doing(s) but handouts.

Obama has reached the Pinnacle of handouts. POTUS.:eusa_shhh:

I simply gave too much credit to the electorate.

I didn't realize how many, like you, were willing to throw away the glorious history of this once-great nation in favor of 'big daddy government's' promises to wipe your chin after they spoon feed you.

You're certainly proof of that....and even proud of it.

Every generation conservatives proclaim the coming of the end of the world because of some victory, or victories, of Progress.

And in a way they're right, at least for the conservatives of that generation; their vision of the world they fantasize about is collapsing before their eyes.

Conservatism is in perpetual retreat because conservatism is an obstacle to progress, and progress has nature on its side.

The dust up over that statement, manufactured by the rightwing propaganda machine, didn't fool the American people.

Hey. How did this whole election/ prediction thing turn out for ya?
