help! Old account issue

I had joined these forums a few years ago and posted for a bit. Today I came back to post again, but I could not recover my password. When I entered my email address into the lost password box it told me no such email existed, so I assumed the account had been purged due to inactivity, and re-registered using the same email address and the username Badkarma (the same as I had before, i think). Now I have been banned for having multiple accounts.

Is there anything I can do to get unbanned so I can continue posting?
