He didn't talk taxes

    Watching the election on CBS last night and in the hour and a half wait for Mitt to concede(;)) they discussed what went wrong. The number one thing mentioned was that Mitt didn't distinguish himself from Obama on taxes. In fact, they brought up exit polls that showed voters dissatisfied with the lack of talk about simplifying the tax code.

    No boldness from either on serious tax reform and making taxes something average Americans don't have to hire a professionals to understand.

    This was a downfall, indeed.. specifics, breakdowns, etc would have been crippling to Obama... they just never gave it

    I agree, specifics were key. Also, boldness. If mitt had one big strong idea, like full scale tax reform, perhaps today would be different.
