Yeah, I finally saw that, but as I said to Immie, I still say they don't pretend to be anything but an advocate for progressive agendas. Maybe at the time they formed the site they THOUGHT they would be nonpartisan and they've just never taken down that fine print.

I think it is funny and as with all satire has that grain of truth to it which is what makes it funny.

It doesn't change anything at all, because Dems are just as bad as Reps. The site is funny.

Or the fact that the single biggest spender in the 2010 election cycle is actually a union. Thanks for pointing that out. Regardless of the fine print, I still don't think there's doubt in anyone's mind that it's a progressive organization and they really don't try to pretend to be anything but.

Non-partisan means not beholden to or biased to any one party. Most "progressives" are independent and view the democratic party as bought and sold to corporations as well (to a much lesser degree than republicans who really should just chage their party name to corporatists and just own it, IMO but that's pretty obvious). I know many, many people you might consider "progressive" and all are registered independents.

Both the defining terms (according to the dictionary) "liberal" and "progressive" have been demonized. These days, anyone with a hint of being left of center on any issue is slapped with the label. It's also reached the point where I'm afraid to use the term "social" anymore either, because it's a buzz word that will immediately bring the loonies out of the woodwork to tie the simple definition to "Socialism."

You'll have to be more specific. Just because he's constantly a dirty word among the conservative community doesn't mean there's a hundred precent truth to the constant trashing of the man. Why it's almost like <gasp> the people who continually attack him are "jealous" of his wealth.

In any event, Soros isn't spending any money at all on the 2010 campaign. But by the time it's all tallied, the new 527 mystery PACS will have spend around $3.5 billion in campaign contributions. George Soros will fade into history as being the infamous biggest spender.
