In a society with such stunning abundance, efforts to feed the homeless are being met with legal challenges and even police action in America. This is a disturbing trend which has been gaining steam in recent years.

It's cruel. We have program at a church where I volunteer that provides bag lunches to the homeless and less fortunate six days a week. They've been doing this program since the Great Depression. We give out about 100 a day.

We feed about 100 a day, breakfast. Plus dinner on Monday and Sunday.

Los Angeles prohibits all agencies from feeding homeless. The only thing these kitchens are allowed to provide are foods donated by restaurants. Leftovers which come complete with nutritional content and calories per serving.

Individuals "donate" to the homeless by buying them something from the many fast food outlets. One of these lawyers or stock brokers will go to Mc Ds and get a burger and incidentally pick up a Big Mac and fries for the overweight, "starving" homeless guy hanging around outside. The result is, this form of charity has caused mobs of homeless to hang around hoping for a hand out. If you aren't in a car going through the drive through, don't take a chance. If you walk in, you will be putting your little bag of lunch under a coat when you leave or expect that your lunch will be treated as a donation.

Yehhch keep this behavior away from parks and the beach.

The Homelessness Strategic Plan will coordinate Malibu's existing resources in a more effective way, find new opportunities to address the issue, and support the efforts of the Los Angeles region, the press release said. The grant is part of Los Angeles County's Measure H, an initiative approved by voters in March 2017 adding a 10-year, ¼ cent sales tax to help fund housing and support services for the homeless population throughout the County. The City Council unanimously approved sending a letter of support to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors in support of Measure H in February 2017.

"The people of Malibu rightly recognize this as a humanitarian crisis and the City has made it a priority issue," Mayor Skylar Peak said. "We are collaborating intensively with non-profit service providers and the Sheriff's Department to support comprehensive services that really make a difference for people experiencing homelessness, while also addressing the public safety and public health impacts of homelessness on the community."
