Gun Control

I am glad gun nuts are around to protect the rights of psychos to shoot a baby in the face at a movie theater.

Because if a psycho doesn't have the right to shoot a baby in the face, are we truly free?

Maybe you guys should focus on the psycho's with the guns and leave everyone else
alone.... :clap2:

Can one imagine a society so fearful of the other that everyone is armed? If civilization means anything it means the right to move freely in public areas without the smallest altercation creating the potential for death. If the cowards who cling to guns want their home armed and dangerous, fine, stay there as you'll hopefully feel safe and secure like some baby wrapped and warm. As for the rest of society an armed society is an insane society in which death becomes reality. Proof it seems has no affect on the fearful.

The liberal agenda preys on weakness and feelings of inferiority in the population by:

•creating and reinforcing perceptions of victimization;
•satisfying infantile claims to entitlement, indulgence and compensation;
•augmenting primitive feelings of envy;
•rejecting the sovereignty of the individual, subordinating him to the will of the government.

The solution is not gun control but security. How the hell do a 16 year old enter a school and a classroom with a shotgun? He could not have entered an airport or courtroom or a prison.Out lawing assault rifles and magizines will not stop gun violence and talk is a waste of time. Secure the building and the class rooms as we do prisons. Seems a little extreme but we are living in extreme times and extreme measures are needed.

2 Timothy 3:1-5...

"But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away."

“On the earth anguish of nations, not knowing the way out . . . Men become faint out of fear and expectation of the things coming upon the inhabited earth.”—Luke 21:25, 26.

Things are coming down as foretold and there is nothing we can do to stop it. Increase in violence was foretold for the last days. And we are living in the last days.

Obama Thinks U.N. Gun Control Is A Good Idea

February 12, 2013
by John DeMayo

If you want to understand the future direction, our world is taking on gun control keep your eye on Obama and the United Nations. It is no big secret that the United Nations Disarmament Commission would like the world to give up all of our weapons so that international authorities can keep us all safe from the world’s bad actors. President Obama agrees with this global agenda and U.S. participation in the 2013 U.N. Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) negotiations scheduled for March 3, 2013.

Again, no big surprise, since the Obama Administration, in 2009, the year the DOJ launched the “Fast and Furious Operation,” chose to overturn the long-standing Bush Administration policy opposing any U.N. Arms Trade Treaty because it was an infringement on U.S sovereignty, laws and generally just an insanely stupid idea.

...

On Nov. 7, 2012, by a unanimous vote, which included the support of the Obama State Department, the international community approved the U.N. Arms Trade Treaty. For any U.N. treaties to be enforced by the U.S. government they require a two-thirds vote for ratification our by U.S. Senate. The ATT never stood a chance of ratification and implementation during its last go around. However, next month, the United States and the Obama Administration will again be participating in these ATT discussions and it appears will once again vote to support this treaty leaving the fate of American gun rights in the hands of a transforming U.S. Senate under the control of Senate majority leader Harry Reid.

...

Before Obama allows the United Nations to infringe on U.S. Constitutional gun and privacy right’s perhaps world powers would like to do a little work on Iran and North Korea’s armament issues. My guns and my bullets won’t destabilize an entire region, cause one child to starve, destroy one economy, or be sold to a terrorist or gang member. My guns will not incinerate a major city. So why does the U.N. need to know that I own them and more importantly why does President Obama support this new order in our World?

Because if a psycho doesn't have the right to shoot a baby in the face, are we truly free?

That is an ignorant statement. If it is really about saving lives then ban criminals and the criminally insane. The NICS system is in place; it is already screening people who buy guns.

To your point about gun violence. So you think that violence in itself is OK, just not with a gun.
I say if you are killed or seriously injured by a knife you're OK with that because no guns were used.

What would you do if confronted by a crazy person with a knife?

You should really get all the data before spouting off. Redraw that curve. but use all violence verses population. Completely ignore guns and gun owners. Base it solely on population an all violence regardless of the instrument. I know that gun violence is not nearly as high as all violence, especially where guns have been banned. It is ignorant to claim that gun violence has gone down; therefore all is good and the people are safe. Violence is not always inflicted by a gun. A knife or hammer will work just fine. God created people but Sam Colt made them equal. Since England and Australia have banned so many guns, gun violence is down, However, all violence is up sharply. There are a lot more home invasions, because the criminals know these are all gun free zones. In other words a victim rich environment

Gun Registration = Gun Confiscation

April 5, 2013
by Frank Grochowski

...

The main topic of discussion these days is gun control. Liberal progressive politicians are trying hard to convince people to give up their guns in order to stop violence. You know the mantra: Guns are bad and hurt people, so give up your guns while we all sing Kumbaya. Without guns it will be a safer world for everyone. But there is a problem with this mantra: Do you really think criminals will give up their guns? Each gun law seems to just give birth to yet more gun laws. When the citizens’ guns are gone and only the government has guns, what then? We will be at the mercy and control of the prevailing regime of the time, with no means to resist. When this happens, the government is no longer the servant, but the master. It will then enact even more laws for “your protection” and the sheeple will have no choice but to fall in lock step and obey.

Consider the following historical facts:

1929 – the USSR established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, approximately 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

1911 – Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

1928 – Germany established gun control. From 1939 to 1945, 13 million Jews, Gypsies, homosexuals, the mentally ill and others who were unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

1935 – China established gun control. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

1956 – Cambodia established gun control. From 1975 to 1977 one million “educated” people, unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

1964 – Guatemala established gun control. From 1964 to 1981, one hundred thousand Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated

1970 – Uganda established gun control. From 1971 to 1979 three hundred thousand Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated

...

If you make a lie big enough and repeat it often enough, people will believe it and the myth becomes reality. Gun control is NOT for the ‘good of the people’; gun control is about one thing and one thing only: government control!

Wake up America!!!!

Democrats Use Fake Hunters Group to Push Gun Control

April 5, 2013
By Daniel Greenfield

The left is using fake front groups? I’m shocked. Truly, truly shocked.

Politico dedicated an entire piece to Bull Moose Sportsmen and their survey which claimed that the majority of hunters support Obama’s current phase one of gun control.

But there’s one problem. Bull Moose Sportsmen only has about 5,000 members and it’s run by Democratic political hacks. Also no one knows where its funding comes from.

...

Bull Moose might want to change its name and stop using the Teddy Roosevelt logo. It could try Woodrow Wilson instead.

Hey, New York: If you’ve taken a psychotropic drug governement can take your guns

4/10/13

The left is happy to push the ‘mental illness’ mantra when it comes to gun control. Why? Partially because yeah, we don’t want insane people with guns. Good safety tip. However, who gets to define what is insane? Do you take any of these medications? Guess what – no gun for you!

TheBlaze writes:

On April 1st, a legal gun owner in upstate New York reportedly received an official notice from the state ordering him to surrender any and all weapons to his local police department. The note said that the person’s permit to own a gun in New York was being suspended as well. The gun owner contacted attorney Jim Tresmond (a specialist in gun laws in New York) and the two visited the local police precinct.

Mr. Tresmond reportedly went into the precinct and informed the officers that his client, waiting in the parking lot, was coming in to voluntarily surrender his weapons as requested. The local police were aware of the letter because they had already been contacted by the State Police. Apparently, if people do not respond to the initial mailing, local law enforcement is authorized to visit the gun owner at their home and demand the surrender of the firearms. In this case, the gun owner followed the request as written. The guns and permits were handed over and a receipt given to the client.

After the guns were turned over, a request for a local hearing was filed and the gun owner is expecting to have his Second Amendment rights restored. But there is more to this story.

...

Psychotropic drugs include Ambien, Prozac, Ritalin, Valium, Xanax, and Thorazine.

“If you have taken or are taking a psychotropic drug, you will lose your gun in New York, at least if this stands. This is from the SAFE Act, the mental health law provision of the SAFE Act, the one that they just passed in New York. It has a short phrase: Protect the public’s health and wellbeing. It’s being cited as the reason government can require notification of any gun owner who is prescribed a class of drugs used to treat depression and anxiety known as SSRI,” Glenn said.

Government Is Coming for Our Guns!

Tuesday, April 16, 2013

Each and every time patriots dare imply that the government registers guns for future confiscation, they are derided as right-wing, extremist wackos.

Don’t you believe it! In New York state, with the passage of the infringing Safe Act, guns were unlawfully seized from David Lewis, 35, who was wrongfully identified as violating the mental health provision of said act.
As written in Buffalo.ynn.com news:

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Thursday, a state Supreme Court Judge ruled guns seized from David Lewis, 35, must be returned to him after he was incorrectly identified as violating the mental health provision of the SAFE Act.

Obama’s Futile Tantrum over Gun Bill

April 19, 2013
By Arnold Ahlert

...

What the president fails to mention is that “these families,” relatives of the Newtown victims, were in the gallery because he flew them down from Connecticut aboard Air Force One, precisely for the purpose of using them as props to persuade senators to vote for the bill. Yet the president angrily denied that reality. “I’ve heard folks say that having the families of victims lobby for this legislation was somehow misplaced,” he fumed. “‘A prop’, somebody called them. ‘Emotional blackmail’, some outlet said. Are they serious? Do we really think that thousands of families whose lives have been shattered by gun violence don’t have a right to weigh in on this issue? Do we think their emotions, their loss is not relevant to this debate?”

...

The latter poll numbers suggest that a greater number of Americans are beginning to grasp the left’s overwhelmingly successful use of incrementalism to eventually get what they want. Several Democrats alluded to that reality. ”It might be inconceivable to the NRA that [gun control] might happen; it’s inevitable to us,” said Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid issued a warning. “Make no mistake, this debate is not over,” said Reid, as he further contended that a successful gun package is “more important than preventing imagined tyranny.” Obama upped the ante, making it clear that congressional resistance was no impediment. ”Even without Congress, my administration will keep doing everything it can to protect more of our communities,” he promised. Joe Biden echoed that intention. ”Number one, the president is already lining up some additional executive actions he’s going to be taking later this week,” he told supporters.

...
The only “shame” that occurred was owned by the president, perhaps the most divisive individual to ever occupy the Oval Office. Reading the excerpts of his speech presented here cannot possibly convey the combination of petulance, anger and arrogance exhibited by a man more than willing to embrace the Saul Alinksy tactic of polarizing and demonizing one’s enemies for political gain. In short, his speech was little more than a tirade, made even more despicable by the fact that it occurred during a period of national mourning for those brutalized and killed by a terror attack in Boston.

“When good and honest people have honest differences of opinion about what policies the country should pursue about gun rights…the president of the United States should not accuse them of having no coherent arguments or of caving to the pressure,” said Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX). Cornyn is naive. “Good and honest” are irrelevant terms. In this president’s lexicon, everyone can be reduced to “us” or “them.” Those in the latter category are beneath contempt.

Obama Announces More Executive Actions on Guns

Aug. 29, 2013 Fred Lucas

Unable to get gun control legislation through Congress, the Obama administration announced two new executive actions Thursday – one to “close a loophole,” another to block importation of surplus military weapons.

The announcements come the same day that Vice President Joe Biden – who has spearheaded the administration’s anti-gun efforts since the school massacre in Newtown, Conn. in December — is set to do a ceremonial swearing-in of B. Todd Jones, who was confirmed by the Senate as the director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

The two new executive actions are on top of 23 previous executive actions announced by President Barack Obama after the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting.

Under current law, the administration says that machine guns and short barreled shotguns must be registered and an individual must undergo a fingerprint-based background check to purchase the gun.

The Problem Isn't Guns or White Men
The ticking time bombs that the Left lets loose among us.
October 8, 2015
Ann Coulter

...
Liberals will howl about "stigmatizing" the mentally ill, but they sure don't mind stigmatizing white men or gun owners. About a third of the population consists of white men. Between a third and half of all Americans have guns in the home. If either white men or guns were the main cause of mass murder, no one would be left in the country.

But I notice that every mass murder is committed by someone who is mentally ill. When the common denominator is a characteristic found in about 0.1 percent of the population -- I think we've found the crucial ingredient!

Democrats won't be able to help themselves, but to instantly close ranks and defend dangerous psychotics, hauling out the usual meaningless statistics:

-- Most mentally ill are not violent!

Undoubtedly true. BUT WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT ANOREXICS, AGORAPHOBICS OR OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVES. We were thinking of paranoid schizophrenics.

-- The mentally ill are more likely to be victims than perpetrators of violence!

I'll wager that the percentage of the nation's 310 million guns that are ever used in a crime is quite a bit lower than the percentage of mentally ill to ever engage in violence.

As with the "most Muslims are peaceful" canard, while a tiny percentage of mentally ill are violent, a gigantic percentage of mass shooters are mentally ill.

How can these heartless Democrats look the parents of dead children in the eye and defend the right of the mentally deranged to store their feces in a shoebox, menace library patrons -- and, every now and then, commit mass murder?

Commonsense Gun Reforms
By Paul Murphy

A major reason the WW I doughboys were such effective soldiers was that they knew how to use their rifles to hit what they were aiming at -- and that happened because the gun was, for most Americans, an everyday tool. By the mid-1960s, however, many draftees had no practical understanding of firearms and the trends driving that change have continued since with the usefulness of firearms now limited, for most Americans, to either the commission of crime or the defense against it.

Gun confiscation proponents generally claim that their position responds to this cultural change -- but that's just dishonest:

  1. Established products and technologies vanish from daily life when preferable alternatives appear, not when government decries. Thus prohibition didn't work and neither did the war on drugs; but nobody confiscated the American horse and buggy, it just passed out of general use as social and technical change made it both impractical and unnecessary.
  2. Weapons confiscation is always about the assertion and continuance of power over a subject population -- never about civil crime. Thus George Mason, coauthor of the Second Amendment, nicely summarized progressive goals on gun control when, in a speech to the Virginia Ratifying Convention on June 14, 1778 he said: "I ask, Sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people. To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them."
Oddly enough, however, the fact that confiscation proponents are generally either deluded, truly stupid, or lying doesn't mean that their cover argument is actually wrong: today's firearms really are, for most Americans most of the time, every bit as culturally and socially anachronistic as that horse and buggy -- something Grandpa might have used on a daily basis, but which should have no role in a modern society.

The reason this situation exists is that decades of increasingly intrusive anti-gun policy have distorted the American personal weapons market by making it increasingly costly for the law abiding to have or use weapons, while simultaneously reducing the disincentives to weapons use by crazies and criminals.

A few years ago then NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre said that "the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun" and he was right -- but what he didn't talk about was first how to get that good guy in place before the bad guy shows up and starts shooting people; and, second how to protect that good guy from the self-righteous anger of liberal judges and prosecutors second guessing his high stress, split-second choices from the comfort of secure roles in well-protected offices and courtrooms.
