In a not so surprising move by the Federal Government's Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms Division, four Ares Armor Gun Stores were raided within full view of parents and children. Customer lists, computers, and boxes of a plastic polymer gun stock; known among gun enthusiasts as the "80 percent lower receiver," which is made with two components that can be used to make AR-15 rifles at home, were seized by ATF Agents over the weekend.

But according to the ATF, these certain stocks are themselves firearms, and are illegal to sell, hence the search warrant and raid. However, the owner and CEO stated that a judge granted him a restraining order three days earlier protecting him from such action by the ATF, until the matter regarding the stocks was resolved in court. The owner and CEO of the store chain, Dimitrios Karras, wasn't so much concerned with the ATF taking the parts, but the customer records. One customer is afraid that he will have his 2nd Amendment rights stripped from him at at any moment. And now, gun stores across America are in fear of such arbitrary action being taken against them by their government.

SAN DIEGO – With a search warrant in hand, federal agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives confiscated computers, customer lists and the questionable polymer 80 percent lower receivers from four Ares Armor store locations throughout San Diego County over the weekend.

“There were women and children inside our retail establishment when the (ATF) agents came in with guns drawn,” said Ares Armor Executive Officer Dimitrios Karras. “They came into our manufacturing facility with their guns up like they were invading Iraq.”

The raid happened three days after Ares owner was granted a temporary restraining by a judge to stop ATF agents from searching their stores.

The ATF confirmed they were investigating the stores for federal firearm violations.

The case stems from the sale of what is called an 80% lower receiver, which gun enthusiast use to build their own rifles and guns.

Building a rifle with specific versions of the 80 percent receivers is legal. The polymer lower receiver appears to be manufactured differently with two parts, making them a firearm and illegal sell, according to the ATF.

“We did ask the court to clarify if these things were firearms or not,” said Karras. “We did ask for protection as this gets resolved within the court system.”

So my question to you is, this quest for gun control knows no bounds. Is it okay for your government to violate the rights of a gun store chain, and subsequently endanger the 2nd and 4th Amendment rights of their customers, all while ignoring a restraining order?
