It is extremely frightening to me how the progressive mindset is heading. Over the past 8 years, these people have become completely unhinged from reality. They now, openly and brazenly declare our Constitution is irrelevant and means absolutely nothing. Of course, many of us have realized for many years this seemed to be what they thought but now they are openly stating it and proud to do so. It's breathtaking. Absolutely stunning.

I don't know whether it's the recent roll of "social victories" they are on, with the gay marriage thing, gays in the military, trannies in the bathrooms... maybe it's the feckless Republican leadership cowering in the corner afraid to confront Obama? Or the spate of SCOTUS rulings that have gone their way... For some reason, they have become unbearably fascist and totalitarian.

I remember 10 years ago, saying the progressives were Marxist Socialists and people acting like I was some kind of nutball for making such a claim. People aren't laughing at that anymore... at least not the ones who know what Marxist Socialism is. It's becoming more and more apparent to the average American, just how dangerous these people are. They are literally doing everything they can think of to destroy this country from the inside out.

Trust me, people are laughing at statements like that. I realize life is pretty rough as Americans... Especially when your dvr starts skipping in the middle of game of thrones... But believe me, it could be worse.

The Constitution IS the government. The Founding Fathers are dead and buried and the only reason you and I can keep guns in our houses is that the current group of living humans who've sworn to uphold The Constitution are defending our rights and permitting us to keep them.

Oh I don't fear the Govt. I just find most of it useless and way to top heavy.

Govt. is supposed to run the country and protect it. Not try to micromange everything in our lives.

What do you want me to say, the vast majority of Americans are stupid idiots, hell any man on the street interview video proves that. I usually speak to my reps offices weekly, sometimes more, I try to educate receptive people I come in contact with, most aren't receptive, they're too damn interested in fad reality shows, and what celebs are wearing. Are we getting the government we deserve, no. We got the bastardized government we consent to by the majorities ignorance and silence.

The answer isn't 'less government' any more than the answer is 'more government'....

The answer is 'appropriate government'. And that starts with a fair and simple tax code.

Government is a tool and The Constitution is the instruction book. Thomas Jefferson said "He who is governed least is governed best", not "The first generation to eradicate the government wins."

Governments throughout history have been tools of the rich and the power-hungry going back to the days when even the white people were the property of their good, Christian king for no other reason than the king paid the army that both protected them and harassed them, and the US government is no exception. And when The infant Republican Party prosecuted their successful and bloody civil war to prove the dominance of the federal government over the states on the issue of slavery, the floodgates opened on the profitability of corruption. So many resources and a political mandate acquired militarily to micro manage them from D.C.
