MP for Iraq’s Anbar province, Mohammed al-Karbouli, said that “on Saturday evening, international coalition aircraft targeted a meeting of ISIS leaders in Qaim city located west of Anbar which resulted in dozens of deaths and injuries and caused severe confusion among ISIS members who then cut off all roads in Qaim in order to transport their wounded to the hospital that was packed with the wounded and body parts.”

Security sources in Anbar expected al-Baghdadi to be among those who were targeted by coalition aircraft, however, his exact fate remains unknown

I'll wait to see. And unfortunately, someone else is waiting in the wings, if he was killed.

Good news!

An interesting development indeed. Let this strike be a powerful blow to these monsters. Hopefully we'll get some more concrete information as the story unfolds.

Not really...ISIS is a cult of the personality....his. If he was in the 10 truck convoy, he's finished...it was torn apart by multiple US aircraft. This is when they will be frantic and the Iraqi regulars and sunni tribes they've messed with will come after them....this war may have ended last night.

Hopefully he will die a slow death, for all the misery he has brought upon other people. Sunni scum

Still no hard evidence other than Iraqi military claims that the asshole is wounded or dead. Hard to get confirmation because ISIL has locked down the area and probably beheaded anybody they caught with a cell phone. al-Qaida has always announced a leader being killed but these dirtbags may not or are now afraid to use anything to communicate but carrier pigeons. I also heard another report that al-Baghdadi has been deposed and replaced by another commander in Syria. This I find both hard and easy to believe given his demand that he be worshiped by his followers. Easy because he might well be dead and they want a smooth transition. Don't expect the CIA to confirm anything...they have never acknowledged they have a drone program. And reliable assets that could track a target's whereabouts can be compromised by too early a confirmation of an assassination.
