GOP Vows To Stay The Party of Obstruction!!!

It appears the GOP will do anything they think they can just to hurt the Democrats, even if it means more Americans without health care and Americans going bankrupt because of medical expenses.

Democrats are hurting themselves. And Americans will hav eless health care with the bill than without.

No one forces anyone to go bankrupt.

I am starting to think the current GOP is so lustful of power, they would push American over a cliff just to get a taste of power back.

I couldnt care less if the Republicans get power back as long as we remain free. Id love to see two strong parties following the Constitution instead of half of one.

Can fascism be far behind if they ever win power back?

How would a fascist govern any differently than the current administration?

you have become so unhinged it isn't funny anymore.:(

For the record, I think if the GOP continues to not work with the Dems on anything from now to November, it will likely secure the base but drive away some independents.

More civility from the left. Name calling is a powerful argument guys. Im sure you had to think long and hard to come up with it.

Well, they have lost the first battle already.

Washington (CNN) - Senate sources in both parties tell CNN the Senate parliamentarian told Republicans he will not rule in their favor, if they try to stop the health care fixes bill, changes to the Senate health care bill that the House passed on Sunday, from even coming to the Senate floor.

In a private meeting Monday with the parliamentarian, Alan Frumin, Republican aides argued that the fixes bill violates rules of the so-called reconciliation process because of the way it affects social security. For that reason, GOP aides said they argued, the bill should not even be allowed to be debated.

But late Monday, both a senior Republican and a Democratic aide told CNN Frumin informed both parties he disagreed with the GOP assessment, and would not block the health care fixes bill.

It was the first of many attempts Republicans say they will make to try to use the limiting rules surrounding reconciliation, to amend or even kill the package of fixes that house democrats are relying on the senate to pass.

FYI no one is saying people shouldn't have access to health care and BTW everyone does.

The issue is does the government have the right to force so called free citizens to buy a specific type of policy?

jesus, we are all adults here. We know how to read between the lines. We listen to talk radio and watch Cable tv. We are capable of interpreting all the winks and nods.

The GOP has a-l-w-a-y-s been anti medicare and anti Social Security.

The GOP has now stumbled on a way to scare the heck out of seniors and the disabled with cries of saving ss and medicare.

shameless

Don't confuse the Republicans / Conservatives with the Liberal Death Wish, no the Democrats are the one's who ignored the will of the people....

Independents will turn out in record numbers to punish their pick of '08, keep it up, it will be fun to say I told you so!!!!

No, but the Republicans will continue to fight against unconstitutional Bills and the Arm twisting and what should be considered illegal backroom deals that the Democrats made just to get this train wreck passed. But don't worry there is enough opposition to it that it will never fly.

McCollum plans to fight health care bill in court - South Florida Business Journal:

Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum said Monday that he and the attorneys general of nine other states plan to file a lawsuit Tuesday in an effort to block the landmark health care legislation passed by Congress.

The lawsuit, he said, will be filed as soon as President Barack Obama signs the bill into law.

And that is only the beginning.

They don't have a leg to stand on. What are they going to do, ask the court to overturn it because it's socialism/communism?:cuckoo::cuckoo:

yeah, Bill McCollum---fiscal conservative.

While serving the House, McCollum was also selected for a variety of Republican leadership positions, including three terms as Vice Chairman of the House Republican Conference. McCollum voted eight times to cut Medicare, voted to raise the eligibility age for Medicare and Social Security [5] [6].

McCollum gained national attention as one of 15 members selected to serve on the House Committee to Investigate the Iran-Contra Affair, and, in 1998 – 1999, as one of the House Managers of President Bill Clinton's impeachment trial. Rather than seek reelection to the House in 2000, McCollum ran unsuccessfully for an open United States Senate seat, bringing to an end his 20-year Congressional career. How about because

  • reconciliation was used illegally
  • it mandates for americans to buy a product
  • it puts huge financial mandates and states that are already near bankruptcy

It appears the GOP will do anything they think they can just to hurt the Democrats,
And the Democrats did not do anything they could just to hurt the republicans?
Gore destroyed the economy just before Bush entered office.
Democrats called Afghanistan another Vietnam when Bush wanted to go there.
Clinton obstructed the transfer of power to Bush, setting him back months in the office. Those months were critical in allowing 911 to occur.
even if it means more Americans without health care and Americans going bankrupt because of medical expenses.
And you have the gall to talk about conservative Hyperbole?
The democratic plan won't magically make more medical caregivers appear. It won't actually reduce the costs. All it can hope to do is insure that no American gets decent healthcare (which is fair in oonly the worst sense) and the Nation goes bankrupt.
I am starting to think the current GOP is so lustful of power, they would push American over a cliff just to get a taste of power back.

Going to the emergency room is not access to health care. Would you have prenatal care, cancer and diabetes screenings and other preventative care accessible only through the most expensive and least effective means~ emergency room care?

It's an old saw that Conservatives love to throw out there. It's on its face a lie, but when has lying ever stopped those with no other plan?
