The numbers sometimes tend to lie. During the Bush years we had massive job losses because of 9/11 and Katrina. Also, anyone who knows economics knows that all economies are local. The job of the White House is to produce a climate that is conducive to economic growth, which Bush did. It's not his problem states like California, New York, and Michigan didn't have leadership willing to capitalize on it. California alone drags down the overall economic numbers. Most of the positive numbers come from only a few states including Texas, Wisconsin, and North Dakota.

In the first link the author operates in a total vacuum thinking Bush drives the economy like a bus. Problem is Dems in big cities have ideas of their own. In Sacramento Democrats were overheard discussing ways to screw up California's economy even more.
