You're right about the projected death toll if unrestricted CCW is passed. But that will be the cumulative effect of repressive gun laws over the years -- and it will be a temporary phenomenon.

If the excessively prohibitive gun laws we are burdened with today had never been passed there is no question that the existing crime rate would be substantially lower and that all or most of the crazies who would act out today if guns were readily available to them would already have been killed or imprisoned.

Without repressive gun laws the social atmosphere in America would be very different. Because an armed society is a polite society.

You need to look at studies. Conceal carry doesn't mean more deaths, unless you are worried about the occasional criminal being on the wrong end.

Criminals already practice conceal carry. You don't think they'd be more shy if they thought more citizens were armed?

Pick on the criminals all you want, but don't be so stupid as to think that a permit will turn a decent citizen into a criminal. Doesn't work that way. It's criminals you need to worry about and laws don't affect them one way or the other.

I'm sure some liberals are hoping for murders just so they can blame it on gun laws instead of deranged killers. Chicago has a high murder rate and stricter gun laws than most of the country. Would you like the entire country to be more like Chicago?

Data shows that states that support the 2nd amendment have fewer crimes. Places, like Chicago, that have strict gun control have higher murder rates.

Look at states before and after they instituted carry permits. Crime went down. Shootings went down.

Liberals own and carry firearms, and the vast majority consider Heller/McDonald settled, accepted Second Amendment jurisprudence, making no efforts to 'overturn' the rulings or enact gun control measures that violate that jurisprudence, including prohibiting concealed carry.

It's conservatives who need to 'get over it,' as no one is seeking to 'take away your guns,' or otherwise 'violate' your Second Amendment rights.

That claim has been made EVERY single time a new State passes concealed carry or open carry. In fact usually the gun grabbers claim the State will be like the wild west and shoot outs will happen daily in the streets. Guess what? It has NEVER happened to a single state that passed those laws. In fact crime has gone down since 92 , firearms crime has gone down, killings have gone down.
