Global Warming: Republicans must be lying

Quick, build more windmills, it's our only hope!!!

What do you have against Windmills? 70% of Iowa's power comes from Windmills.

70% of Iiowa's power NEVER comes from wind. Except for 3 hours on some random Tuesday in 2013..
You need to study up on the details and stop binging on the propaganda..

And if ice is all you got --- it's not a thermometer. You get just as much ice melting for 100 days at 0.1deg rise as you do for 10 days at a 1deg rise. Ice SHOULD be melting. Because you probably don't want to live in a climate where glaciers are GROWING noticeably in your lifetime..
I don't think you understand how wind energy works. Any excess is just delivered to pumped-storage.

I know more details than you about the Electric Grid.

Again, what's wrong with Windmills? All you followed-up with is a wrong attempt to disprove a statistic.

As for your "ice --- it's not a thermometer" god you just get dumber and dumber.

Gonna TRY to give you some knowledge here. Because you've failed to understand the PERFORMANCE of a wind turbine facility. So below is a graph of daily power production (over 11 days) from a WELL-SITED offshore Danish windfield. The line at 400,000 is the RATED capacity of the windfield. THat's the amount they "paid for" when they bought the equipment. What you see is an unreliable, extremely sketchy day to day changes from virtually NO power -- to a few days in a row when the wind produced SOME power -- and only a couple of days when the field produced anything CLOSE to the RATED output. The RATED output is where you get all of these "Iowa is powered by wind" lies...

A lot of that in Iowa? Link?

Sure Toddster.. They just build a big hill ---'bout the size of a mountain -- carve a giant ass lake in it -- and put a hydro -electric turbine at the bottom. About 200ft ought to give you enough to run a couple Taco Bells...

The sun laughs at your carbon footprint...

So does China and Russia laugh.

Still, obama presses on --- because as he says, global warming is the biggest threat to our nation, not terrorism. No... actually Obama, you are.

Obama shut up about "climate" from 2010 to 2012. The truth of that would impeach him, but the GOP didn't want to, neither Boehner nor Ryan had the balls to stand up to Netanyahu and expose the FBI's fraud case against the climate "scientists."

It is self evident from the video below that both the Arctic and Antarctic are collapsing. The arctic much much faster than the Antarctic. Republicans love to say that well...the Antarctic is growing in ice, no it is not. And several ice shelves have disappeared resulting in as much as 8x increase in speed of glaciers.

Furthermore, all the world's glaciers outside those latitudes are melting, and they will contribute a 3 foot sea level increase.

So the conclusion, in the face of unprecedented Arctic and Antarctic collapse must be that the Republicans are lying.

Nobody can be THIS stupid as to deny that the Earth's climate system is warming and the ice is the first to be impacted.

Of course they are lying, they are the political mouth-piece for the oil industry who have been selling this lie for 30+ years because they know it spells the end of their industry on a whole. The industry CEO's and their political stooges should be held legally liable for lying about this for so long, just as the tobacco industry was held liable for it's decades long lies about smoking.

Only a fanatical brain-dead idiot would deny the reality of Global Warming and that it is accelerating even faster than predicted. But they still do, conservatives hold on to a lie like grim death until it has been beaten into dust.

Sure, whatever you say.

You go sink another half a trillion subsidizing your greatest threat to mankind and go to war with the sun. Meanwhile, this nation will implode from hatred and poverty and Islamic terrorist bombs long before the temperature rises two more degrees.

And make sure you spend another $100,000 building a monument to your hero Obama.

The earth warms, the earth cools. In warm periods you can navigate the Northwest Passage. In cool periods, you can't. It is up to the sun to decide which. The sun laughs at your carbon footprint...
Fucking bullshit. We have never been able to navigate the Northwest Passage in large ships in human history. In 1903 it was first navigated in a 80 herring boat, and that took three years. A 900 passenger cruise ship just finished navigating it.

More lies from LaDumbkopf. How about some credible links.

We have never been able to navigate the Northwest Passage in large ships in human history.

And now we can? Cool!

Well now, wind is far cheaper than coal, especially 'clean' coal. And solar is also. Grid scale storage is available now for as little as $180 kw/hr, and soon will be less than $100 kw/hr. Oncor, the largest utility in Texas already stated that at $350 kw/hr was the break even point for grid storage to be effective. We are there, just a matter of implementing the technology.

Ya do know Christopher Columbus landed here in 1492..

It would have been a different story if he landed here106899876 bc...

But that don't matter to ya.

I will have to take your word on it because the source of the reports seem to be more of a factor than the "facts" themselves.

And I do not have the time to sort it all out. I went as far as one Newsweek (no friend of the right) article from 2015. When you factor in the cost of making the turbines and the enormous govt subsidies for wind power, their findings do not support your claims above.
What’s the True Cost of Wind Power?

Uh you cannot navigate the North West Passage in "warm periods". The last time it was navigated (before 2007) was in 1903-1905.

Let me reiterate that.

The last time someone navigated the North West passage (without an icebreaker) took them 3 FUCKING YEARS.

In 2007. An old couple in a sail boat sailed the North West Passage.

You dick. Get your fucking facts straight.

Here are the facts, asshole. Allow me to bring you up to date:

This summer, the Crystal Serenity—a 820-foot-long, 13-deck cruise ship with a casino, a movie theater, six restaurants and a driving range—is planning to steam through in less than a month.

Operated by Los Angeles-based Crystal Cruises LLC, the trip sold out in three weeks, with some 1,000 would-be passengers paying about $22,000 each. That price doesn’t include such extras as a $4,000 helicopter ride along the way, or a three-day, $6,000 excursion exploring the Eqip Sermia glacier in Greenland.

About 200 ships have traversed the 900-mile route since Amundsen’s voyage between 1903 and 1906. But most of those have gone through just in the last decade as ocean warming diminishes ice cover further, and for longer, during the summer months. Last August, the surface area of ice extending across the Arctic Circle was 30% less than 25 years ago, according to the Colorado-based National Snow and Ice Data Center.

By the mid-1990s, an average of four vessels were making the voyage each year. In 2013, there were 13 crossings. Last summer, about 20 ships passed through.

Most of the traffic consists of small cargo ships, servicing remote communities along the route. Small recreational boats routinely conduct tours. The World—a cruise-ship-size vessel that carries residents who have bought living space aboard—slipped through with 481 passengers in August 2012.

The Crystal Serenity will be the largest ship that maritime officials can recall attempting the voyage. And it will be the first, large-scale cruise liner packed with tourists. Demand was so high, Crystal Cruises said, it is planning a second cruise for 2017.

Now let me enlighten you some more, mouth:
The 1800's were cold. Maunder Minimum. Low solar flares. 1900's Solar Maximum, warming up. 2000's Heightened Solar flare activity. 2018 solar flare decrease.
They don't even call it "Global Warming" anymore because they know what I just told you. The solar flares are waning. It's going to start cooling off soon, not warm up. They will not be traversing the Passage in 2040. Looks like the Polar Bears are going to make it after all. So, now they just call it "climate change" and it has nothing to do with climate , and everything to do with a redistribution of our wealth and resources.

I don't have a dick. I don't need one.:whip:
Grow up, there is no need to be so nasty. You owe me an apology.

Another stoopid thread by a clueless progressive........when we already know, DUM or GOP......nobody cares about climate change. Pew......Gallup........Rasmussen........every poll shows the same thing. The concerns of the voters is near zero!!! ( although I will point out, gun control was beat out by climate change by 1% point.......but both at bottom of a list of about 20 concerns :funnyface::fu: )

And this whole "Republicans don't know science" narrative has been going on for 10 years and has accomplished ZERO. Time for Plan B s0ns!!:boobies:

Indeed.....we see this all the time in here from the AGW religion = phony "costs" of wind and solar. The German people found out the hard way in recent years when the pols lied about the costs ( for example, its a fortune to build transmission lines......never factored in by the k00ks ). Now they are importing US coal like nobodys business!!

Progressives lie all the time about most everything but in the area of renewables, the are shameless. All distortions all the time ( as your links clearly displays Turzovka :rock: )

We have about 4 or 5 regular phonies in this forum.

The NY Times Got It Wrong: Renewable Energy Is Key to Fighting Climate Change

Wind and solar energy have experienced remarkable growth and huge cost improvements over the past decade with no signs of slowing down. Prices are declining rapidly and renewable energy is becoming increasingly competitive with fossil fuels all around the country. In some places, new renewable energy is already cheaper than continuing to operate old, inefficient and dirty fossil fuel-fired or nuclear power plants.

In fact, the investment firm Lazard estimates that the cost of generating electricity from wind and solar has declined by 58 percent and 78 percent, respectively, since 2009. Those cost trends are expected to continue and coupled with the recent extension of federal tax credits for renewable energy, wind and solar growth is widely expected to accelerate over the next several years, with capacity projected to double from 2015 levels by 2021. With careful planning, renewable energy and clean energy options like increased energy efficiency and storing energy for use later will help pave the way.

In the longer term, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Clean Power Plan to establish the first national limits on carbon pollution from power plants will continue to drive renewable energy growth. Wind and solar energy will play a central role in achieving the emissions cuts required and carbon policies like the Clean Power Plan will be critical to ensuring that low-carbon resources are prioritized over higher-emitting power plants.

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/11/24/b...rt-to-win-on-price-vs-conventional-fuels.html

In the second link it lists the unsubsidized cost of solar and wind as compared to conventional sources.

End the taxpayer subsidies and the utilities mandates, it'll slow down in a hurry.

The "solar cycle" is BS, and the sooner you ditch it, the better. Fox News isn't about truth, never was.

During the past million years, Greenland froze while North America thawed, all at the same time on the same planet with the same atmosphere with the same amount of CO2 in the atmosphere, and the same bogus solar cycle.

The solar cycle does not explain the data. Tectonic plate movement does.
