also most recognizable.....

That George W. Bush's name is on a list of admired persons serves to explain why this nation is in decline. Anyone who would admire a sociopathic elitist like George W. Bush is a simpleton or a self-destructive, authoritarian/submissive. And it appears there is an abundance of both categories.

If anyone who reads this believes there is a reason to admire George W. Bush I would be interested in knowing what that reason is.

I think Jonas Salk and Walter Reed should have permanent 1st and 2nd place.

Angelina Jolie.

Cry me the mississippi! What happened to this country?

Only 33% of Alaskans have a favorable opinion of Sarah Palin, while the majority are icy about their former half-term GOP governor. The bulk -- 58% -- have a negative opinion about Palin, according to a new poll by Public Policy Polling.

What is it Alaska knows the rest of the country doesn't?

Liberal Outrage soon followed by Moron Outrage.

You're saying Alaskans are "liberal" or "morons"?:thewave:

Because he is still better than obamaturd, and most dimwits.

I don't know for sure, but I don't recall EVER seeing one of these most admired lists from a reputable source in which the sitting President of the United States did not come in at #1 so that placement may or may not be significant. As Michelle's approval ratings are higher than Baracks but she placed much lower on the list does raise a question or two.

The fact that former President Bush and former Governor Palin were ranked high up on the lists suggests that while Americans may not prefer them as President, they are admired as people.

The people have been pretty much dumbed down by and controlled by the media.

I've never seen anybody suggest PBS or NPR should be done away with. I HAVE seen opinion, shared by me, that if they are credible and valuable sources, they should be able to stand on their own two feet without federal funding. And I have seen opinion, shared by me, that it is a dangerous thing for the federal government to control the funding for ANY media sources.

So who do you think would be on PBS and NPRs most admired list?

With the exception of Aung San Suu Kyi, The Dalai Lama and Nelson Mandela...the rest of that list is comprised of nothing more than human waste.

Hell, there's been a thread on USMB about getting rid of NPR...I could swear I've seen one...

The feds only control a small portion of NPR/PBS's funding.

It is of course better to have corporations control the media funding?

Hell, there's been a thread on USMB about getting rid of NPR...I could swear I've seen one...

You did see one. The government should not fund either NPR or PBS - or any other media.

Of course not, the corporations should control it all.
