The more contagious Delta variant is taking over as the dominant coronavirus strain in Massachusetts, Boston-based infectious disease experts say.

Unvaccinated people spread the second, delta strain, as well as they are spreading the Lambda and delta plus.

I believe that and the data from the Israel and the UK, where the shots were given sooner and they are ahead of us in Delta, is bearing this out. Look, you can mock all you want, but it's obvious you're not up on the facts and data. You realize Israel is one of the most vaccinated nations on earth and they are in full lockdown again. Iceland too, and came to the conclusion that you CANNOT vaccinate your way out of this.

Or, you could take a cold hard look at the fact you now need a THIRD shot SIX MONTHS after the first two and think wow boy howdee, that surely came out of nowhere. Or you can just keep putting your head in the sand and spewing propaganda like a robot. Your choice.

If you're referring to the Telegraph article, it stated one advisor Neil Ferguson, who was fired on May 5 for undermining SAGE's committee message on covid, stated up to 2/3 of people who died of covid, would have died anyway.
He never stated the vaccinated status of people.

The requirement is the latest – and the most draconian – move in the Israeli government’s battle against the Delta variant, which has hit Israel hard. The fast spread of the variant caught Israelis by surprise.

Israel was one of the first countries to vaccinate the majority of its population and by March most Israelis were already putting COVID-19 behind them.

By June the mandatory mask requirement was completely dropped and the only restrictions that remained concerned the entry and exit from the country. Now the rate of infection has risen to 5.4 percent and Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has said he will take every action possible to lower the rate and avoid going to a fourth lockdown.

Health experts say there are two main reasons the Delta variant hit Israel so hard. For one, Israelis were flouting the mask requirements, which were re-imposed at the end of June. Now police are handing out fines to those who do not wear a face covering.

England is a different story.

For the U.S., that drops to 70 percent for one dose and 60 percent for two — and rates are far lower in Southern states such as Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi. Officials there are now in the same race of vaccine-versus-variant that Britain has been battling this summer.
