Welcome to the boards. Are you a formal Naval aviator? The reason I ask, is because the only time I heard the term "FNG" used, was when new pilots came to the squadron. Most of the time, they came in pairs, and we had coffee mugs and name patches labeled "FNG 1" and "FNG 2", and they used those mugs and patches until they earned their squadron call sign.

For those who don't know what FNG is, it stands for Fucking New Guy.

Actually, in Naval aviation, FOD stands for Foreign Object Damage, meaning anything that can get sucked into a jet intake that would damage the engine.

Did you know that something as small as a 1/4 inch pebble can screw up an engine?

Doesn't surprise me. I've watched a ton of "Flight Channel" videos about flights gone wrong. Not sure how I got addicted to that as I've never had an interest in aviation, but after watching all those it's sobering to think what a crapshoot flying is.

So while aviation isn't my thing, audio is, and it seems to me jet engines could do with the equivalent of a pop filter.

Living in San Diego will expose you the the US Navy and it's many personnel and expressions.
