The same exact thing will happen all over again. It's amazing how you people can't figure that out by now.

Yes if we still have governors who don't follow CDC and health guidelines, if we still have people who won't vaccinate, it will keep happening.

This shows that opening schools as if the virus didn't exist is a very stupid thing to do.

However if most who are eligible to be vaccinated do get vaccinated, if people wear masks and social distance, the infections can be kept to a manageable level without having to quarantine over 5500 people.

How many of those 5500 will end up in hospitals fighting for their lives? How many of them will lose that fight?

We can't go back to life before the virus before we have enough people vaccinated and everyone follows common sense guidlines to defeat the virus.

Or are you willing to just do nothing and let thousands more die needlessly?

With schools back open, a lot of students are going to get covid. That’s just going to happen. We’re either ok with that or we’re not and we close schools back down.

At the very minimum Tallahassee should provide assistance to school districts, not oppose them in their efforts to combat the pandemic.

This is a good question, and since Desantis has made an executive order banning mask mandates at schools i have to wonder how many florida parents made their kids actually wear them. Unless all 5500 students wore N95 masks properly this shouldn't have happened. But were all them of them doing that? Was anyone? That's doubtful.

First of all .....

In order not to wear a mask at the the schools mentioned in the article the students had to bring a note from their parent/guardian stating they were not to wear a mask.

It's unlikely that many of the students did that.

It's more likely that most were indeed wearing mask.

Even so ...

N95's do not protect one from being exposed to the virus.

It can certainly reduce the amount of particles one may be exposed to .... but, it does not prevent exposure.

Mask and/or vaccinations will not stop students in public schools from being exposed.
