Fiscal Cliff non-sense

I am not concerned with their future but you should be. If that is going to be their way of doing things from now on then you should probably become comfortable with never having control of any branch of government for a while. Republicans in congress realize this even if you do not, let's see if they are going to lash themselves to the mast of their sinking ship or quit being drama queens and help the rest of us bail.

There's your problem, you think your bailing when you are actually making the hole bigger.

Drama queens it is, not willing to settle for an incremental solution that may take 10-20 or more years, republicans want to do it in one fell swoop and make damned sure it does not cost them a dime of taxes or loss of services and focuses the pain on those who they see as undeserving, usually the working poor and the young.

Keep building those strawmen and bragging about how easy it is to defeat them.

The best thing for the republicans to do is not agree to raise the 'debt ceiling'.

If Obama get's his way, he will be able to raise the debt ceiling as high and as often as he wants, without needing permission from Congress.

Where in the constitution is this "Debt Ceiling"?
The same place where there's a provision for a central bank issuing a worthless commercial script as currency, with an exclusive monopoly on issuance.

Oh, wait.....

Fiscal Cliff?

Don't make me laugh. Compared to what's coming down the road, it's more like stepping off a curb. This butt hurt is simply a ruse by the left to get what they've wanted for decades, more taxes.

The defecit they are talking about doesn't include medicare and medicaid debt that will have to be paid not far down the road, by many estimates to be about 80+ TRILLION DOLLARS! The reason you don't hear about it is that no politician on either side wants to touch it for fear of losing votes.

Tax the rich? Even if we don't count the $80+ trillion, and only look at the $16 trillion, it's spitting in the ocean. And the democrat party has taken entitlements off the table.

Once again you are being duped by obama, the left and the left wing media. Here's a few facts for ya:

1. Increased revenue to the government = increased spending, never paying down debt.
2. If the economy collapses, the rich won't be hurt by it. Only the poor and middle class.
3. Politicians, all of them, are rich. Some are super rich. They aren't going to REALLY increase their own taxes.
4. Those making >$250k and less than multi-millions will suffer, and most of them are the job creators, you know, small businesses.

Incorrect.

What they want is lower taxes for middle and lower income working Americans, high-end earners returning to Clinton Era tax rates, and spending cuts designed to actually address the deficit, not attempt to balance the budget on the backs of the poor, elderly, retired, disabled, and young.

Liar.

Boiking and the liberoidals want zero spending cuts....And raising taxes on the reviled wealthy won't be piss on a forest fire to address the deficit or debt.

Just how can liberals address the fiscal issues, when they refuse to see how it is properly defined. Its a revenue AND spending problem.

The Democratic Party has taken entitlements off the table.

The Republican Party has taken Defense off the table.

Raise the retirement age for Social Security and Medicare to 70. That is a huge spending cut.

The war in Iraq is done, the war in Afghanistan is winding down. There is no excuse for not returning Defense spending to pre-war levels. The emergency is passed, no more emergency spending is necessary. There is nothing more totalitarian than the idea we need to make an emergency measure permanent.

.

How about we raise the retirement age by two years instead of five......and eliminate the cap so everyone pays on every bit of their earned income? How about we let wealthy people refuse their SS benefits for a tax deduction.

Seems like there is a lot of pain and cuts backs to go around. The Fiscal cliff actually allows for a more equal sharing of that burden. Just leave it alone.

That is complete garbage. If they do want these things it's not to adress the deficit or balance the budget, but to create a larger and larger class of people dependant on the government.

... and in the process of doing that more people stay out of work longer and draw out the recovery period longer. Since Obama doesn'r have any real budget cuts, I find the statement by CCJ to be spin.

What they want is lower taxes for middle and lower income working Americans (Because they have not yet managed to purchase all of those votes just yet), high-end earners returning to Clinton Era tax rates, (Because high end earners won't vote for us anyway) and spending cuts designed to actually address the deficit, (No spending cuts have been offered at all) not attempt to balance the budget on the backs of the poor, elderly, retired, disabled, and young.

Balancing the budget the backs of the poor, elderly, rtired and disabled.....talking points right out of 1979.......
