The military does its best to avoid civilian casualties when conducting air strikes, however, civilians do get harmed/killed at times with air strikes.
I challenge you to name one conflict/war where civilians haven't been killed as a result of such activities. Even Pakistans former leader once praised the United States for its practise of deliberately minimizing civilian casualties.
