Financial distress in Alaska

Not just a pink police car. Do you want to add a pink fire truck to the bill of municipal largesse?

That bloody knife of circumcision is coming out in the open with Anchorage Cancer Treatment & Care | Alaska CyberKnife Center. Sometimes firefighters deliver babies, & they sortta just do what they gotta do in the district, ya know what I'm saying, can't have any uncut boys running around loose, like well shit you know good and well what I mean.

Are they firemen? Or are there any women on the fire crew? There's something so horrible, so abominable about this mess, the Swedes call it «urbota» or irremediable and say that it is done «i onödan» or unnecessarily, and the Finns call for court-martial and immediate capital punishment over this type of thing.

It's getting worse and worse.

There's a vice-district impound-and-auction-lot tow-and-repair business. Just oh-so-cute and old-fashioned. Employees and agents of the state and boroughs are aggressively seizing and confiscating motor vehicles in their continuing efforts to stave off financial catastrophe.

The Nenana courthouse is open for "limited services" only. The court is not open for the issuance of lawful marriage licenses, but it is definitely open for domestic violence and rape charges.

Coronavirus® a.k.a. COVID-19® is not a sufficient explanation or excuse for all the vice, depravity, financial recklessness, and official irresponsibility.

I have family that live there and business has been tough there for a few years. I don’t understand it. The state was doing pretty well then boom!

Wrecked car parked for months on end on the Richardson Highway between Eielson AFB and Delta Junction, Alaska, by explicit permission of State Troopers, city hall, military and Fairbanks North Star Borough Police, local wreckers, tow companies, insurance agencies, auctioneers, impound lots, parking permits and dealers who are lobbying for greater power to repossess vehicles whether on loan or paid in full by title auction at a legitimate auto body shop with the full authority of laws vested in tow company operators by virtue of city hall and military police.

Alaska is totally controlled by the republicans and has been for a very long time.

Their problem is typical conservative irresponsible economics. They don't properly tax business and the people of Alaska.

Start taxing business properly and they will have the money to pay for the infrastructure they need.

They are in the top 10 of the states that take the most in federal tax dollars, they're in 6th place.

What should happen is no state should ever receive more federal dollars than they contribute. Let them live with the consequences of allowing the rich not pay their fair share of taxes.

If people had to actually live with the consequences of allowing the rich and big business to pay little to zero in taxes, anyone who advocates for lower and zero taxes for the rich and big business would never be elected to office.

RINOs = Republicans In Name Only.
City Hall is 100% Democrat in Alaska.
Mayor Ethan Berkowitz of Anchorage is a Democrat. He runs a Democrat gun control district. Mayor Jim Matherly of the City of Fairbanks and Mayor Bryce Ward of the Fairbanks North Star Borough have the support of the "Republican Women of Alaska" and other working-class pro-labor Republicans – I'm sorry, but all those hard-working "conservative" women pressing all the same sex charges and COVID-19® social distancing charges and restraining orders etc. as the Democrats if they don't feel they're being tipped fairly at the restaurant or the drive-up barista stand.

I would argue that people who are so irresponsibly liberal with our tax dollars should not be calling themselves "conservative." At the same time they are in government office and they definitely have their favored establishment clientele who are not paying their fair share of taxes. I do not agree with the usual Democrat solution of imposing high taxes with selective and inconsistent enforcement at the discretion of the mayor or other leadership of the borough or the city or other various local tax districts.

There's a "district" running out of control in south central Alaska. I went for a drive on the Seward Highway a few months ago. It's a double nickle highway (55mph speed limit) with eternal road construction all summer long, every summer, and double traffic fines in the construction zones to pay for ongoing road construction and reconstruction, tourists parking between the orange cones to stop and go fishing.

The speed limit changes frequently, 45mph, 55, or 65 on some stretches, and the Alaska State Troopers are waiting with their radar guns in the construction zones, wherever the speed limit changes.

Kodiak Island is a couple hundred miles south of Seward and a little west, or by boat more directly south out of Homer.

There's apparently both a town or village and a sea inlet by the name of "Womens Bay." There's an "Old Womens Mountain" on the map, but when you have an actual city or town by that name, there's way too much of a bloody red-light district going on, especially in view of the pink police car and the pink fire truck from the Municipality of Anchorage.

There's an island and too much "woman" and too many "women." May as well be Sappho of Lesbos, because when ladies start throwing themselves into the ocean, it's time to put an end to the endemic corruption of that district.

Operating during a pandemic. Operating. What in God's high and holy name is a mental hospital “operating” for anyways?

Q. Wasilla? Did they take the bridge to no where to get there?

Oh. That't right. The bridge was damaged in a severe earthquake November 30, 2018.

That did not improve the budget situation, either.

The city will have to take a financial loss due to:
  • earthquake damage;
  • the use of borrowed funds for critical maintenance & operations rather than actual capital improvements;
  • the use of capital improvement funds to repair earthquake damage rather than making actual capital improvements to real property.
In truth it was the worst earthquake in Anchorage since 1964 — but city hall should not be spending so much money on fancy buildings that are so susceptible to damage not only from earthquake, but from frost, storms, and heavy snow loads on the roof.

Excessive capital deepening is a serious economic problem.
The damage to the bridge was repaired in three days and it didn't take twenty million bucks to fix it. Where did all that money go? To line the fucking politician's pockets!

That domain MUNI.ORG for the Municipality of Anchorage is already a touch unseemly. Here's another one: ANCHORAGE.COM, a cryptocurrency and casino online betting platform. What else is that "staking" business about?
