Got any specific ideas? I would really like to hear them. This is a political board people, have their own opinion here. Crony capitalism will be address by true conservatives. it's a cancer on our systemNot from what I've seen so far, conservatives talk about hating crony capitalism but demand their politicians be "business friendly" to the point that they are lapdogs of big business.Amendments are, in fact, rewriting the constitution. I would like to hear some amendments you think should be introduced that would address corruption in government. I am betting that getting the big secretive corporate money out of the picture is not one of them since conservatives love their politicians to have real cozy relationships with big business.
Here are a few ideas
1) Repeal the 17th amendment
2) Pass an amendment implementing the Fair tax and abolishing all other Federal Taxes and repeal the 16th Amendment
3) Pass an amendment implementing zero based budgeting
4) Pass an amendment enacting term limits. Change the Presidency to one six year term so Presidents don't campaign from office, limit Senators to one six year term and congressmen to three 2 year terms
5) Pass an amendment to require all bills to state the Constitutional authority that justifies the Federal power in the bill, take Judicial Review from the SCOTUS and give State legislatures the power to declare Federal bills Unconstitutional, say with a 2/3 vote of legislatures
6) Pass an amendment stating the Commerce clause allows Federal authority over interstate trade only, not intra state trade, and it gives the Federal government only the power to expand trade, not restrict it
7) Pass an amendment allowing States to invalidate Federal laws in their State
8) Pass an amendment stating States are not bound to the union but are in the United States voluntarily
9) Pass an amendment Stating that the Federal government must provide Constitutional rights for tax collection and for Federal initiatives like the "war on drugs"
10) Pass an amendment requiring 2/3 vote in each house for tax increases
11) Pass an amendment to make earmarks Unconstitutional
12) Pass an amendment to require the Federal government to treat all it's citizens the same
All that stuff is supposed to fight government corruption? Nothing for the too-cozy relationship between the big money and government? Nothing to address election spending? Nothing to address lobbying? Seems you care more for how the government spends than how it gets in bed with big business and sides with them against the American people.
Corny captialism would no doubt be address at the convention
