Feeling the Bern?

Feeling the Bern? I am. I even contributed money to his campaign. I've never done that before. Not even for Obama even though I truly hoped he would be the harbinger of change. I'm disappointed.

Here's a good reason why I support Bernie Sanders for President of the United States:

Don't complain about money in politics, and never complain about lying politicians if Bernie Sanders isn't our next president. You have your chance to elect an honest, fearless candidate for president, and if you choose the wrong person, simply don't complain when the next financial collapse costs you a business, or your house.

I'm not going to settle for Hillary.

Bernie Sanders has gained a lot of popularity by proposing what strategists may call “real change” ideas. It’s not just about maintaining the status quo, but fighting Wall Street for their damages on the economy, fighting for healthcare as a human right, and fighting for every kid to be given a chance at a college education. Clinton’s ad seems to suggest that all this “real change” is too idealistic, which may hold some truth.

However, by outright using that as a reason to support her, what Clinton’s ultimately saying is: “real change is impossible, so settle for me.” Not the best motivation speech.

Ugh. If Hillary is the candidate, I won't vote.

I don't want any of those crazy Republican candidates anywhere near the White House (and all of them are many times worse than G.W. Bush).

Are you tired of candidates saying what you want to hear to get your vote, and then forgetting about you until the next time they want your vote? I am. We're heading toward another major collapse and the billionaires will have enough money to buy up everything the rest of us lose. We have a corporate congress ... and other corporate cronies running our country for the benefit of the top one percent. Outrageous.

Do you feel the Bern? why or why not?

I've been a Sanders supporter since he announced he was running for any number of Real Life reasons. The double-plus-good part is discovering how many message board denizens are scared of a word they don't understand and don't want to understand.

I agree. "We the people" embraces the concept of "common good". All of our government policies are social policies. Social programs that embrace strong educational opportunities for our children is good for all of us. When the government hands over billions ... heck, trillions of dollars to our corporate "citizens", that's okay? It's okay when they're in trouble to go into debt to bail them out ... corporate socialism is somehow acceptable, but education for your neighbor's children is not acceptable? Why can't we have a government that is run by the people FOR the people? Like you, I don't understand the disdain for that simple concept.

If I start to feel any Bern........it goes away when he starts harping on phony Global Warming waste. His tax plan is massive complicated, no idea what he does with existing 75K page book? What does he mean when he says Break up the banks? huh? why? They got big because people invested in them. Free medical? does he mean for the 30 million illegals too? Immigration? More muslims? no thanks.

Break up the banks means "Holy shit, how did this happen?

All of our government policies are social policies.

forgot. yes the GOVT is in on "everything". And they do all of it poorly, except for Military and IRS. Education, SSI, Medicare all are bankrupt disasters. They screw it up and want more money to "fix it"

So did you give him 10 more dollars? Makes me feel bad for the broke college kids using their lunch money for a socialist agenda. The democratic party...

Don't feel too sorry for them. They owe millions which will never be paid back yet many of them claim they will vote for Bernie and don't even have the sense to know that he is a senator. LOL!!

I love Bernie Sanders, I'm just not sure how effective he would be. You cannot change decades of oligarchy simply by talking loudly. He does come with less baggage though.

Effective in what way?

I think having an honest voice and watchdog in the oval office will be extremely effective. He can use his loud voice and his White House pulpit to educate the people. Hey ... this is what your congressional representatives want to do with your tax dollars or with a proposed bill ... do you agree with that or not? Here's why I believe it is a good or bad plan ... etc... He can encourage the people to put pressure on their elected representatives to actually do the jobs they were elected to do ... or be replaced in the next election. I think electing Bernie Sanders is a first step in the right direction.

He also has 30+ years of negotiating across the aisle and getting things done. He knows these people, knows their strengths and weaknesses, knows how they can be brought around.

NO, I gave him much more than that ...

Do you feel better when the richest people in the world are funding your candidate's campaign in exchange for corporate welfare and socialism? just asking ....

if hillary's the candidate you won't vote.

and if bernie is the candidate we can't win.

so there ya go. but feel free to stay home.

For starters, the extreme right wing brand of nationalism is downright scary. I have no interest in nationalism and scapegoating migrants.

It doesn't surprise me that the idea of actually being required to show loyalty to the nation which is your home would be scary to the supporter of a candidate whose theme song should be "Imagine" by John Lennon (another Communist, like Mr Sanders).

Nationalism isn't about scapegoating immigrants, because in a properly Nationalist and Isolationist nation THERE ARE NO IMMIGRANTS. Which also means there are less theiving hands stealing money out of my paycheck every week to support them, and more jobs for us to tell the rest of the Welfare State to either... "Take the job, or lose your benefits."

Bernie is just like any other career politician, paid for.
Lol

I don't hate Sanders but I support Trump. Bernie would be the ONLY other possible candidate I would vote for and I would take a long hard look at voting for him IF Trump is not nominee.
The ultimate socialist or the ultimate capitalist? You must have a toggle switch for a brain.
Has nothing to do with that. I agree with Bernie's economic stances on income inequality and college and healthcare and I agree with Trump on bringing jobs back here and immigration and being a strong leader etc.

Just curious, did you vote for McCain in the 2000, or 2008, primary?

Because he reached across the aisle far more than Bernie has
