Obviously you didn't bother to read your own linked article, or failed to comprehend it:Um numb nuts he was NEVER involved in the taking of the facility. Care for another try?He wasn't arrested for what he said. He was arrested for what he did. Taking over a government facility is illegal even if you have a radio show.
'The federal judge spoke of the supposed difficulty in trying to determine whether the “shock jock” was making genuine threats or simply creating a media personality and spouting off. “I have to decide whether the defendant should be taken at his word or not as a shock jock, making the inflammatory statements that one would have to make to create an audience,” Mosman was quoted as saying during a hearing for Santilli earlier this month. In the end, the judge concluded that Santilli’s on-air statements showed he might pose a threat to U.S. Marshals if released while awaiting trial on the “conspiracy” charge. So, for now, Santilli remains behind bars. If convicted, he could remain in prison for six years.'
Free speech is not absolute, it is subject to reasonable restrictions by government.
There is no evidence the arrest had anything to do with the content of the speech, with the message being expressed, where the arrest was intended to preempt free speech or silence the speaker.
Consequently, there is no 'free speech' issue, no justification for an 'outcry,' this non-issue is yet another lie contrived by the extreme right in an effort demonize 'the government' and excuse the domestic terrorists who illegally occupied Federal land.
And as we can see Santilli is being afforded full and comprehensive due process, given a fair hearing as to his detention, where that detention was determined to be warranted by a neutral magistrate.
