Feds fabricate data to cover the failure of the Endangered Species Act.

Because it isn't about protecting animals, or the environment. It's about stealing resources.

"Revealing a stunning record of failure and fabrication over nearly half-a-century, a new report by Robert Gordon of the Heritage Foundation calls for sweeping administrative reforms of the federal Endangered Species Act (ESA).

"Enacted in 1973, the ESA has managed to “recover” only 40 species, or slightly less than one species per year."

"Even worse, almost half of the “recovered” species – 18 out of 40 – are what Gordon calls “federally funded fiction.” It turns out that these 18 “recovered” species were never endangered in the first place and were placed on the endangered species list due to poor data. This, however, has not kept the Department of Interior’s Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) from trumpeting their “recovery” as a success.

“This deceitful practice portrays mistakes as successes, distorting the most important measure of the program,” Gordon writes. “It also triggers other mandatory actions further wasting taxpayer dollars, serves as a justification for the adoption of more restrictive land management practices by other agencies, obscures significant problems with the data used to justify listing species, and erodes the overall credibility of the Service and the program.”

"Were it not for the incompetence and dishonesty of the FWS, the examples of phony recoveries cited in the report would be comical. The Concho water snake found itself on the endangered list, because the FWS determined that the construction of a reservoir would destroy its habitat. "

Anything that protects against human destruction, even a little bit, is a good thing

1. No. and 2. It doesn't do that. All it does is allow the feds to destroy with impunity.
Destroying with impunity is typically the goal of people fighting to get rid of state and federal protections for our land
That's a lie the brownshirts tell to justify these armed, jackbooted thugs who are destroying our public lands and interfering with our ability to farm, ranch, and access resources which belong to us.

Down with the USFS. Down with the BLM. Down with the EPA.

Maybe if the taxpayer wasn't massively subsidizing the bloated farm industry, I'd feel more sympathetic.

Subsidies are nothing but bribes. I'm with you, they need to get rid of them.
But they can't get rid of them unless they remove the ridiculous restrictions, taxes, and penalties that the feds plague land owners with. The reason they exist is to offset those unconstitutional shackles on our resources.

If the ethanol industry disappeared and all other subsidies stopped, all the butthurt farmers and ranchers that want to exploit public land would vanish.

Nobody. Humans are pure, and if you think about it that means all laws and regulations are completely unnecessary.

They have been showing false info for many years. I patrolled the Glades for year and there was no shortage of the dog eaters. The Seminoles kept them inline and made a living off the hunts. So if they did that then I bet there was more false reports files.

Then what the hell was the point of your post?

Lying corporate shill is paid by the Heritage Foundation to fool bunch of gullible Republican voters.

Hmm, this must be a day that ends in y.

Species go extinct all the time. New ones appear. They're "endangered" for a reason: they can't survive and need to evolve. Some offshoot of that species likely already did evolve and is surviving just fine. No point in fucking with nature and keeping the endangered species alive.

There are a lot of animals that are only endangered because of human activity. Do you know how ridiculous what you just said sounds? "Oh, human deforestation made that animal endangered? Let it die; no point fucking with nature."
Instead of saying it's ridiculous, why don't you point out why we should keep these animals from going extinct.
I have to agree with Confounding. You are a fucking idiot. No sane person wants a species to go extinct.

Hold on a minute...Mexifornia politicians want Caucasians “extinct” in Mexifornia.
