Federal Debt Up $7 Trillion Under Obama

Amazing. Bush was the most incompetent president ever. But he hoodwinked every member of Congress, including Obama, who were too smart to see through him. Bush ran up the tab on two wars, except Congress, controlled by Democrats, voted to fund all of them. Bush told everyone Saddam had WMD. But those in Congress who said exactly the same thing and criticised Bush for not doing enough about them never said a word. Bush blew the budget, but Obama cut spending, even though spending is higher than under Bush, and the deficit is higher than under Bush, with the exception of the last fiscal year when we had a recession.
Democrats are lying scum.

Sorry, Obama wasn't in the Senate for that vote. Again the majority of Democrats in Congress voted against giving President Bush the deciding power.

As is usual for you you ignore the fact that congress could have cut off funding for both wars at any time, inlcuding when Democrats controlled both Houses.

with troops on the ground, and everything it takes to support a war Congress could just cut off funding ...

what planet did you say you're from ?

Well sure they could have, but then they'd be Republicans wouldn't they? Nope, they were the loyal opposition...........:D

Yup. They could have not funded the war at any time. It would have forced Bush to end it. Think of the men and money that would have been saved if only Democrats had courage.

The disloyal opposition, you mean. Democrats left no opportunity to undermine Bush and declare his policies failures. But they weren't bold enough to take responsibility for anything and actually do something about Bush's policies.
Republicans voted continuously to do something about Obama's failed policies.

Don't worry. It's Bush's fault.

There problem solved.

Who controls the purse strings, the Congress or the President? Ultimately the President is the one who signs or vetoes those bills. Another question is when did the debt accrue and for what?

Initially it is Congress that votes for budgets. ABout 40% of the total debt of this country was incurred under Obama. That's 40% of all the debt since Washington. One president is responsible for it.

Thanks for your answer.

So we can agree that Congress votes for budgets and the President either signs it or vetoes it.

What was the last budget that Obama signed off on and what spending bills did Obama sign that incurred that debt?

I will bring this to your attention though:

"Since then Ronald Reagan and the Republican Party have given us skyrocketing deficits, and astoundingly a doubled national debt. How is it that the party of balanced budgets, with control of the White House and Senate, accumulated red ink greater than all previous administrations put together? "

I an certain you know that the government is funded by continuing resolutions because the Senate, under control of Democrat Harry Reid, has not passed a budget since 2007.

Doesn't the House allocate spending?

That might be true; but he allowed the budget to pass. President Obama is in a damned if you do, damned if you don't position.

As you also had referenced on you post:
Insurance is a luxury. People have done without canned food, electricity, central heat, cars, school buses, TV, computers.

It's called Tea Party Logic or Let's bring back "Working for the company store."

Yeah i cant believe how high the debt got under Obama, and remember when he said he would have it half way paid off by the end of his first term now its almost tripled what a liar he doesn't know how to run a country.

Amazing how they forget that isn't it?

You, sir, are a numbskull...

The Senate on Saturday narrowly passed its first federal budget in four years, a move that will usher in a relative lull in Washington's fiscal wars until an anticipated summer showdown over raising the debt ceiling.

The budget plan was passed by a 50-49 vote in the Democratic-controlled chamber. Four Democratic senators facing tough re-election campaigns in 2014 joined all the Senate Republicans in opposing the measure, which seeks to raise nearly $1 trillion in new tax revenues by closing some tax breaks for the wealthy.
