"Bugsy"

The real-life (as close to real life as movies get) of Benjamin Siegel's role in creation of modern-day Las Vegas.

Categorize any way you like. "Some Like It Hot" is hilarious.

One of my favorite things about the movie, besides the incredibly good acting of Lemmon and Curtis, is the stories about Marilyn Monroe that emerged from the cast.

She drove everyone crazy by showing up late (some days, not at all), not knowing her lines or her cues.

Tony Curtis said that kissing Marilyn Monroe was like kissing Hitler.

"Marilyn Monroe required 47 takes to get "It's me, Sugar" correct, instead saying either "Sugar, it's me" or "It's Sugar, me." After take 30, Billy Wilder had the line written on a blackboard. Another scene required Monroe to rummage through some drawers and say "Where's the bourbon?" After 40 takes of her saying "Where's the whiskey?", "Where's the bottle?", or "Where's the bonbon?", Wilder pasted the correct line in one of the drawers. After Monroe became confused about which drawer contained the line, Wilder had it pasted in every drawer. Fifty-nine takes were required for this scene and when she finally does say it, she has her back to the camera, leading some to wonder if Wilder finally gave up and had it dubbed. "

Wilder got a little bit of revenge in his next movie, "The Apartment". There is a scene where Ray Walston picks up a cheap blonde in a bar and calls Jack Lemmon to see if he can use his apartment for his tryst.

Walston's character is very excited when he says, "She looks just like Marilyn Monroe".

I didn't know, thank you.

Another good story from 'Some Like It Hot". The scene where Jack Lemmon tells Tony Curtis that he's become engaged to Joe E. Brown's character, it had to be re-shot after the first audience test screening.

The audience was laughing so hard and so loud that it drowned out most of the next few minutes of lines.

They added Jack Lemmon playing with the maracas to fill in the pauses added for laughs.

I don’t even count Part 3 as a Godfather movie

Even most of the newer mafia movies manage to be great flicks. It's seems like a hard genre to fuck up.

I'm looking at you, Godfather 3.

Godfather 2 !!

There is such a thing as over directing. For crying out loud, she played Marilyn Monroe in that movie. Who is Billy Wilder to say how Marilyn Monroe would respond?
If Marylyn Monroe says whisky instead of Bourbon, who really cares?
Just let her play the scene as Marilyn
