First off, start with a common definition of "conservative" that everyone can agree upon for the purposes of this thread. 'Cuz depending upon what definition is being used, at least 3 or 4 people on your list are exactly that. It's only when you shift definitions in each instance to fit the historical figure can your list be considered all liberal.

So start with a definition. And then we'll discuss.

What do our opponents mean when they apply to us the label "Liberal?" If by "Liberal" they mean, as they want people to believe, someone who is soft in his policies abroad, who is against local government, and who is unconcerned with the taxpayer's dollar, then the record of this party and its members demonstrate that we are not that kind of "Liberal." But if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal."- JFK

Lets start here

George Washington
Abraham Lincoln
Franklin D. Roosevelt

All began conservative and moved left of center.

Nice platitudes. But not the definition we are looking for. According to JFK's definition everyone would consider themselves liberal to one degree or another. Yes, even George Bush and Ronald Reagan.

So its a meaningless definition.

Give us the definition that YOU are using. In YOUR words. a definition of conservative. Not liberal. And not some historical figure's definition.

4. Gandhi
5. Martin Luther King
6. Ben Franklin
7. FDR
8. Thomas Jefferson
9. JFK
10. James Madison

And what exactly have the conservatives done for us?
1. Out-and-out blasphemy.
2. True.
3. False...He was a reactionary.
4. True.
5. Debatable.
6. True.
7. Total lie...He was an authoritarian who stole the New Deal, lock, stock and barrel, from avowed socialist Eugene Debs.
8. True.
9. False....He was a progressive leftist.
10. True.

There's a vast difference between classical liberals, like the framers, and the modern progressive fake "liberals".

Hiding behind Christ to support your politics, in any case, is so far beneath contempt for words to describe.

If you are into Jesus, he's actually a conservative.

He gets all pissed off because people are not following God's rules and goes apeshit in the temple because they are money changing in it and not following the correct procedures.

The Pharases do a nice impersonation of modern liberals by using the courts to have him arrested, tried and executed.

Jesus was a Liberal
Webster's dictionary defines a Liberal as one who is open minded, not
strict in the observance of orthodox, traditional or established forms or
ways. Jesus was a pluralist Liberal who taught that one need not
conform to strict and orthodox views of God, religion, and life. He
rejected greed, violence, the glorification of power, the amassing of
wealth without social balance, and the personal judging of others, their
lifestyles and beliefs.

Over and over again, He taught us to believe in and live a spiritual and
ethical life based in our essential, inherent goodness. What Jesus
promoted was succinct set of spiritual principals and a way of life
based upon the of love, compassion, tolerance, and a strong belief in
the importance in giving and of generosity to those in need.

And Dude chimes in with another blasphemy. The Pharisees were conservatives for the day, and they hated Jesus with a passion, as all conservatives hate all liberals. You see, Dude, you have to love your fellow man as yourself, and you apparently, based on this thread, are doing very, very poorly. Ask yourself more "What Would Jesus Do?" before you slam others.

By your own definition you make yourself wrong, I already gave you an example of how he behaved when the strict rules of conduct where no longer being obeyed.

Sorry it blew up your lil thread, but life sucks that way.

Not another Libtard who doesn't know the difference between the dictionary definition of 'Liberal' and the real world definition which has been corrupted by contemporary American liberals. :cuckoo:

youre a dumb fuck

Jesus was more strict than any of the pharisees that plotted to murder him. the pharisees would stone a woman caught in adultery (John 8), Jesus says that if you even THINK it youre guilty (Matthew 5:28 ). you dont know the first thing about Christ and your little faggoty quote proves it outright! AND not only that BUT he says that you deserve DEATH for your sins! (Rom 6:23)AND who will carry out the sentence? (Rev 20:12)

Cons would condemn Jesus as a Liberal if he returned today.

Really? Someone who preached that the only way to salvation was through God, who condemns homosexuals, who would condemn abortion, and who said that it is everyone's responsibility to spread the word of God....

THIS person would be considered a liberal?

Get real.

Jesus was neither a liberal nor a conservative when he is constructed in the modern framework of today's political landscape.

The Eugene Debs socialist wing of the Democrat Party stole the term back in the late 1920s, in order to obfuscate their real agenda.

Not at all unlike the completely fraudulent semantics being peddled about the "public option" as code for a gubmint monopoly.
