Ever wonder who first told the tale of Jack and the Beanstalk and why?
Sometimes to succeed, you need to take big risks with your last farthing, and face big scary entities, but if you study the monster carefully, you can manipulate it and become fabulously wealthy.
I picture some middle class, successful English merchant who maybe risked it all in foreign investments and got rich, despite everyone’s warnings. He made it a tale for his grandchildren.

The original teller of Cinderella had to come from a blended family. We know how she got along with her stepmother….

Red Riding Hood is the classic warning for girls not to travel alone, probably originally told by a Grannie.

Anyone got others?

In the original Cinderella, each stepsister chops off a piece of her own foot in an attempt to fit into the slipper.

And later, the little forest birds peck their eyes out.

That should have been included in the Disney version.

OMG! The birds are a nice touch, though.
