FACTS on Dubya's great recession

True I guess, Ronnie had a top rate of 50% his first 6 years, that commie!

will somone tell this idiot liberal that Reagan was perhaps our most conservative president after Jefferson.

Jefferson? The guy who on his own, you know without Congress's approval, doubled the size of the US? OK, Maybaybe he'd agree with Ronnie NOT telling Congress about his Iran/Contra dealings, lol

too stupid, doubling the size of the country did not double the size of the govt. In fact Jefferson wanted to do it so more people could be farther aways from the govt.

Isn't learning your ABC's fun?

too stupid the vote in Congress was 24 to 7.

Weird, so what he did was approved AFTER he did it? lol

Further, Jefferson had clearly not followed his own strict interpretation of the Constitution. Federalist critics howled that the Constitution nowhere permitted the federal government to purchase new land. Jefferson was troubled by the inconsistency, but in the end decided that the Constitution's treaty-making provisions allowed him room to act.

Most of the Senate agreed and the Louisiana Purchase easily passed 26 to 6. The dramatic expansion also contradicted Jefferson's commitment to reduce the national debt as swiftly as possible

James Kennedy and Alan Greenspan, on the effect of mortgage equity withdrawals (MEWs) on the growth of the US economy.

Notice that in both 2001 and 2002, the US economy continued to grow on an annual basis (the "technical" recession was just a few quarters). Their work suggests that this growth was entirely due to MEWs. In fact, MEWs contributed over 3% to GDP growth in 2004 and 2005, and 2% in 2006. Without US homeowners using their homes as an ATM, the economy would have been very sluggish indeed, averaging much less than 1% for the six years of the Bush presidency. Indeed, as a side observation, without home equity withdrawals the economy would have been so bad it would have been almost impossible for Bush to have won a second term.

Faun has a clown face on Romney even though Romney started Obamacare in MA? Go figure.
So? Romney then went on to run for president ... made some clown comment which insulted 47% of the population ... and went on to lose an election he could have won.
