The "war" on women The "war" on poverty The "war" on homosexuals The "war" on illegal immigrants The "war" on education The "war" on healthcare all kinds of "wars" for the pussified left to imagine........... All except for real wars, like the war on terrorism... otherwise known as "overseas contingency operations".............undoubtably coined by some overly sensitive, ivy league progressive schmuck unafraid of ridicule
Well if the wingnuts didn't start and fight these "wars" there wouldn't be any "wars" on women, gays, the poor, on teachers and illegal immigrants. Because if you ask the women, gays, the poor, on teachers and illegal immigrants if they feel war has been waged upon them most, if not all. would reply with a resounding "YES". We saw what happened when the GOP went after the teachers in Wisconsin. They made out teachers (who make an average of $25k a year with a Bachelors Degree) to be devils incarnate. We saw what happened when the GOP went after the illegals in Georgia. Georgia was forced to take another look at its tough immigrant laws when crops were left rotting in the fields. We saw what happened when the GOP went after the poor by attacking contraceptives and Planned Parenthood (that has saved thousands of lives of poor people). All I hear is how wonderful the poor people have it but I have yet to see anyone willing to trade places with any of them. We saw what happened when the GOP went after the gays when they worked to rob them of something straights take for granted. The human right to marry the person you love. In many cases the GOP wants to use "big gubmint" to restrict (and deny) basic freedoms to the American people. And the fact that they consider themselves the "party of small government and freedom" is laughable at best. The GOP has proven themselves to be the party of hypocrites.
for liberals.....you're either "with them" or "against them".....either you are part of the PC "borg" ...or else you are the enemy.... ...individualism is not tolerated....
I don't know where you got that. Everything you describe is part of the conservative culture. Just look how they treat the ones they consider RINO's?
These culture wars are started by the right wing to distract America from the real wars that have cost 4000 lives, 40,000 troops who have been badly wounded and $1,000,000,000,000 not to mention 100,0000+ lives of Iraqi citizens. You Republicans are such fucking hypocrites.
American Progressives saw war as a way to reorganize America. a. German intellectuals had pioneered the idea that war was the source of moral values. b. Most American intellectuals were influenced by the same doctrines and philosophies. Dewey wrote of the social possibilities of war. In The New Republic he ridiculed pacifists who couldnt recognize the immense impetus to reorganization afforded by this war. Wilson: I am an advocate of peace, but there are some splendid things that come to a nation through the discipline of war. Protected Blog Login c. Dewey was thrilled that the war might force Americans to give up much of our economic freedom We shall have to lay by much of our good-natured individualism and march in step. War would constrain the individualistic tradition and convince Americans of the supremacy of public need over private possessions. David Kennedy, Over Here: The First World War and American Society, p. 50. d. The use of the idea if not the reality of war may be seen currently in liberalisms use of the war on cancer, the war on drugs, the War on Poverty, and the exhortation to fight any problem as the moral equivalent of war.
John.Dewey reveled in the thought that the war might force Americans to give up much of our economic freedom we shall have to lay by our good natured individualism and march in step. http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/sunday/commentary/la-op-
