I've listened to Evan quite a bit over the last two years and I have found him both fair and extremely well informed. He has good contacts within the FBI and DOJ, and has been quite accurate in my time listening to his sources, unlike some other people and even outlets who are not reliable.
On CNN he suggested that there is a great deal of tension within the DOJ because Rosenstein went forward with his Special Counsel without conferring with the AG, and, there is a great deal of unhappiness with his choice. Clearly those within the DOJ realize the clear conflict of interest with Comey and Mueller.
My guess is many feel that this witch hunt is just that, a witch hunt.
