Just listen to this man, He is NOT the oracle of Delphi or a magic soothsayer nor can he see the future: He is basically like predicting a trainwreck akin to when you park on the train tracks and inevitability the train comes an runs you down.

You have raised a very controversial topic.

I shall address it in a very civil manner.

1. For younger members (and guests), Mr. P. is unknown.
2. He was an English politician who in the 1950s suggested that allowing mass immigration from certain areas should be avoided.
3. If one visits England today, some people would say that Mr. P. was prophetic.
4. Other people would say that Mr. P. was wrong and that England is doing very well today.

Bottom line: in 2024, it no longer matters what Mr. P. said.

There is no going back to the 1950s.

In fact, the current prime minister of the United Kingdom is a gentleman from a background that would have presumably upset Mr. P.

Mr P was exceptionally brilliant scholastically -- he was a classics academic who obtained a first class honours degree in Greek with Distinction . And a Poet .
A Professor at 25 and worked for British Intelligence during the war .
A brilliant speaker and debater whose voice hypnotised many an audience .
So his brave views need to be remembered because he made them fearlessly without apparent thought to his public image and the damage that might ensue to him publicly and the offices he held .
His central thesis , imho , that immigration must be planned because cultures and identities are at stake, has stood the test of time .He was not Racist in any way .

He was banished to Ulster wwhere his bigited nazi views found a home.Nothing he predicted ever happened and the country would be in a lot worse shape without immigrants.

A Brit politician who was dealing with his own country's criminal expansionist legacy of the 19th and 20th century. It might be important to Brits but the U.S. was dealing with the fallout from LBJ's war at the time.

Too bad ..
